I was going to set out my thoughts regarding the formation of Monday's T717 but Bentley's PM peak report has all but confirmed them.
It looks like 5130+5211. 5211 was uncoupled from 5020 a few days back and I've not seen it since during my daily Met commute . 5130 was uncoupled from 5056 last night and there is no other potentially obvious 'A' end Unit it can be looking at Bentley's report for tonight. As always, I could of course be wrong? Are there any other obvious conclusions from Bentley's report.....other than the fact that there seems an unusually large number of S8s not fit for service?

Nope, sadly it looks like 5130's time on LT metals has drawn to a close, but every train has it's day to meet it's maker, even 5056, which has made a survival worthy of lazarus

That's some relief, as 5130 is still northward facing, to the best of my knowledge.

Well, every train has it's day, and 5130 has had it, but I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be. There are still A Stocks about, and while cosmetically 5130 and 5211 were in good-ish nick, they may have been in a poor way and 5130 was making terrible squeaking noises some time ago, and I feared it may have gone much earlier. Still, such is life.

Just out of interest, do the passing trains still sound their whistle to salute an A stock in Northwood siding?

Just out of interest, do the passing trains still sound their whistle to salute an A stock in Northwood siding? They never whistle due to that, there is a board telling them to whistle. So all trains should whistle....

T717 formed of 5126+5215 arrived in Northwood Engineers' Siding at 1303. 5126 was at the north end. 5215 and 6215 will be loaded and removed from site this afternoon as the Allelys low loaders were already on site

From what I've seen I think 5134 is due to go next. Firstly, 5134 has been uncoupled from 5117 which shows that its time may be up.

while its a shame and i feel gutted that not more appear to be saved, its time to move on. if the replacement was not so controversial in layout it might not have been so bad, however decisions have to be lived with right or wrong.

while its a shame and i feel gutted that not more appear to be saved....... If I only knew who to talk to, I know a site that would take at least one vehicle. So it not for the want of trying that so few are saved. The more that saved the bigger the pool of major spares wil be for the vehicle that still operate.
