I'm afraid not. Next Monday's scrap move will run, and at present the units concerned will be... 5227 & 5010 Thank you for the info MetControl. Was expected I guess given tomorrow night's planned S8 delivery. Will plan my movements for Monday accordingly.

I was on route to Scarborough yesterday and decided to divert via Rotherham to see Booths. Not wanting to get in the way we drove on public roads around the perimeter of the site (and one through the middle!), but could not see any LUL rolling stock. The adjacent football ground (which I understand Booths had applied for planning permission to store the 67,s) was also completely clear. Dean

But according to this photo, why is 5110 in Action instead? Or is it unrelated? Also, when is the exact times for the scrap run? EDIT: Corrected number.

Wednesday night BBC 2 Great British Railway Journeys. Michael Portillo is in Eastleigh Works and you can catch a brief glimpse of 5157. A brief mention is made as well.

Please check but I am sure it was 5167 (although 5157 went there as well). I am happy to be corrected - did anyone record it?
EDIT: Just checked on iPlayer - definitely 5167.

I of course assume that the scrap run is not open to enthusiasts, so therefore I must get the train before to cover the event.

its a shame enthusiasts aren't allowed on the scrap train, recording opportunities are lost also .
there doesn't look to be a train sent to quainton road at this time and is disappointing not to see.

"Stop, Stop, Stop, STOP!!!!" I did wonder if the guy in the track was going to get run over! If they go beyond a given point the 3rd carriage fouls the points, the to 2 being shunted on to the lorries cannot make use of the point.... happen the very first time and they have to move the 6 carriage back with a winch. ( they did try the shunt but the bodies hit......)

The chance of an S stock will vary as to time of day, but the actual tipping point will be in late March I would guess
