More or less. Usually about 07:10 at Tower Hill. Which completely explains the D stock issue as I'm likely catching the same trains. Tomorrow i'll have to make a note of the train numbers. Although I do remember they didn't tally with the D stock nominated workings. A train could be a D stock tomorrow, but an S on Thursday. Today from Tower Hill WB: 0708 T4 D 7016 0710 T6 D from pfm.2 7040 0712 T5 S 0714 T101 D 7504 0716 T32 D 0719 T31 S 0725 T55 S 0727 T102 D 7070 0728 T7 Thanks for that. I must have caught train 5 this morning. Was nice given how humid it was earlier.

They are very close to the point where they could run an all S stock District line service. Whether they will, or run D stock until there are none left remains to be seen!

I've not noted 21323/324 so far this month on my daily commute on the Metropolitan Line. Of course, that could be for a number of reasons but I thought I would just raise the query as to whether it has either gone or is being prepared for a return to Derby?

It was so remarkably clean that I could see a lot of the under solebar detail that I'd never seen before

Latest rollout stats below. There will be a few weeks without any more trains delivered for various reasons. 121 S7 in London with 116 S7s deployed on the network. 17 S Stock still to roll out on the District Main, one S7+1 for Croxley and 16 D Stock to be removed.

4xClass 20 and match wagons in Neasden Depot Klondyke Sidings today. I was wondering whether the S7/S8 ATC fitment programme may be about to start?

So quite why they are still running so many D's is a bit odd!

When the D stock run out of miles (or they sustain any major failures) they will simply get withdrawn and sent for scrap. Why have something sitting around doing nothing that you've already paid for?

Three S7+1s (now 2) have been running on the Met for a few years now and, aside from the interior, there aren't many discernible differences to the casual observer. Once in service it will be very much the norm so I doubt many will focus on it any more than they have any other S stock after the initial introductory period...

It will be in the same category as 3399 on the Bakerloo, or the C09s, or the 1956 stock mixed in with the 1959 stock. Most people won't notice, or care, but those in the know will look out for it as being ever-so-slightly special.

Actually I think this time even non-anoraks will notice that the seats aren't the way they usually are, and some will probably complain about not getting a "proper" seat

When an S7+1 shows up at Chesham in the morning peak, there is much audible irritation from the normal punters.

I'm sure people appreciated being on a sweltering hot D stock today when there was an air conditioned train fully fit for service cooling itself in the depot!

Just because they've been delivered doesn't mean they're serviceable.

Just because they've been delivered doesn't mean they're serviceable. Correct, but it's been stated on here before that there is a policy in operation to run as many D stock as possible. So this implies that if there Is a D and an S both available for service, the D will be used. With 116 S7's now commissioned and available for service, and a District line peak service requirement of 76 train and H&C of 33 trains, this would need 109 S7's. This would mean that there are 7 spare S7's. My point is more to do with the fact that if they wanted to, they could run a full S7 service now.

There are not enough depot spaces converted to run with all S7 trains.
