There are around 10 regular workings on the District main now, hopefully as driver training has now been completed things should start to improve quickly after the new timetable from 17 May.
Restrictions still apply in Ealing Common and Upminster depots which is reducing stabling space.

I wonder if this is going to be like the H&C introduction where (from the perspective of someone who is in London ever 3-4 weeks) the progression seemed to be: 1) Very rare sightings. (For many months) 2) A good chance of using an S Stock over the course of a few days. (One or two months) 3) Woooosh - C- stock all gone.

That's quite likely to happen. As long as there is a section titled "S7 Stock Working" in the WTT, the introduction will be a bit sluggish. Once that section is gone, that's when the introduction will pick up the pace. I've noticed that some days you can have several S7s in place of D stock at wimbledon when I'm there, but then the next day, just trains 70-77

However, it states that additional workings will be introduced, which will be communicated via the traffic circular.

2 more S stocks delivered to the line early next week replacing 2 x D Stock then there will be a gap in deliveries until the end of the month (ish) to allow the new timetable and altered stock workings to bed in.

From about November 2012 until early August 2013 I used the Circle or H&C once a week in the evening on most Tuesdays, from Ladbroke Grove to Hammersmith. It was about May 2013 when I first started seeing S Stocks every now and then, but wasn't until my very last journey that August that I actually got an S Stock (and even that may have been a slightly earlier time than normal). EDIT: I'll also add that I got a S7 on its first day on the H&C, way back when it was only allowed Hammersmith to Moorgate. Only because I happened to be in the Baker Street area, and still remember the nervous wait between "Moorgate" showing on the CIS and the train coming around the corner (first train that arrived)

On the District as from 26 May situation will change thus: M-F: T7, T32, T56, T62, T63, T64, T66, T67, T123(AM), T124(PM). Sat: T40, T51, T64. (Saturday trains may only be for 30 May) As usual the caveat of stock availability applies.
The restriction into Richmond pfm.7 is also lifted the same day.

Thanks for keeping us updated! Just past T7 on it's way to Wimbledon. It still looks strange to me to see numbers other than 070-077...! Do you think they'll have any more introduced to the main before the Tennis rolls around next month? They're certainly better for capacity!

How does this shuttle service work at Dagenham East, do you leave the station westbound and then reverse back into the other platform?

Six days in London and I still didn't catch a District Line S7.
I did, however, manage to just miss the same S7 twice, in a single, linear, journey.

Although T124 was a D stock this afternoon.
I imagine the introduction of S stock will start to gather pace very soon.

Last I heard they were halted again? When was that? And for what? Some of the LU people here have pretty detailed knowledge and I don't remember them mentioning any delay after the line closure.

The only delay I've heard of is until the end of May.

Last I heard they were halted again? The only delay I've heard of is until the end of May. There is nothing in this thread to suggest any change at the end of May. There is one post saying that things will change when the new WTT is (was) introduced on the 17th May, and another with some detail about changes on the 26th. It really isn't very helpful if people with no specific knowledge make vague statements about 'what they've heard', without at least the source and some detail about the reason (for delays or changes, at least).

Actually there was a post on May 7th from tridentalx mentioning a gap in deliveries until the end of May. Again, though, a rather vague ('end of month-ish') post that appears to have been superseded by the post mentioning the 26th. Whatever, my point remains; two posts, one saying 'halted' and one saying 'delayed until the end of the month', don't add anything, and only serve to cloud the reliable information posted by LU staff with definite knowledge.

fyi, there are better ways of making that sort of comment by the way... Do you specialise in making posts that lack relevant information? I thought that the least confrontational way to complain about people making virtually random posts with vague, unsourced, information, was to say that, as a type, such posts were unhelpful. If you think there's a better way of putting it, why not say so, rather than make another vague posts suggesting that such a way exists?

Yes that is my fault for being vague about an exact date because at the time it wasn't entirely clear when the next decision point would be reached. Should be some more info tomorrow with the likelihood of a further two trains over the next two weeks and the aim is to move to a regular one per week again not too long after that. Edit : T65 from Upminster will be scheduled as an S Stock from Monday (though may not run as an S every day next week) joined by T47 from the following Monday.

Was on board an S7 yesterday and witnessed manual door release at Ravenscourt Park (IOW to open the doors, press the illuminated button). Never knew that was possible. They should do that when it's windy/raining/snowing.
Below shows a video of mine with this in action:

Never knew that was possible. They should do that when it's windy/raining/snowing. S Stock have 3 settings for door operation; 'operator'; 'both'; 'passenger'. T/Ops are currently required to operate trains in 'operator' mode only.
