Could you please assist with latest unit delivered and running. Thank you Mike 21441/42 was the latest delivered on 20 January and is now in service. 21445/46 is the highest number delivered, one of two in the SSR Upgrade wrap livery. Deliveries should restart soon with the Chiltern Line now open. Next one is due with the line this week. Sorry I can't remember the number. A further three or four now having paths from Derby to London planned for next couple of weeks and a decision due shortly on when these end will up on the line; most likely during April.

Why have 21100 and 21116 been away at Derby for 5-6 months? The modifications took 3-4 weeks with the other ones that went back

The modifications took 3-4 weeks with the other ones that went back I believe these and S7s 21345/46 21431/32 are required for Sub-Surface Upgrade project testing, ie. new signalling interface etc.

(I thought it was just S Stock Publicity Wrap). I ask because I saw it today and would like to be able to use the correct terminology when annotating what I filmed. Simon

It seems that sets up to at least set 509/10 are at Old Dalby. That leaves 28 sets that are either also hidden away on the test track or are somewhere in Derby in various stages of construction. www.flickr.com/photos/75454768@N02/16846145315/Also, this might have already been covered, but as part of the Croxley Rail Link funding, it was generally accepted that another S8 would be coming as part of the package. Is that going to be a conversion of an S7, or will it be a new build train altogether?

It's a shame the 'gift wrap' stock isn't reserved for District MainLine services only. S have been the only stock to operate over the HamCity&Circle for a year now, so most regular passengers won't see them as 'new'. Think they'd have more effect just travelling the EalingB, Rich & Upmin routes..!

Of all those mentioned I only observed T62/3/4/7 worked by S stock. T25/54/101 and 124 were all D stock although I didn't see T105.
Interestingly enough I did see 21449/50 on T216 at Barbican and Edgware Rd later. I would think it had been in service a while as it was complete with tube cards!
Any body know if there are any problems commissioning S stock or otherwise as the latest deliveries see me to be taking a long while to appear in revenue earning traffic.
Hope this helps somebody.

They aren't always sticking to the workings which have been posted.
Last week, there was an S on T7 all day. Also saw an appearance on T40.
I'm sure that pretty much all of the drivers are trained on the S stock now, so it shouldn't make much difference which workings they end up on.

Thanks - that's great news. Can the S Stock run to Richmond now? The restriction to Richmond was lifted on 16 January, although S7s are still unable to use pfm.7, this has consequently meant no District trains can use pfm.7.

this has consequently meant no District trains can pfm.7. Why's that? Simplicity? Or is it perhaps that it's difficult for the signaller to tell what stock they've got approaching GB17?

Can anyone say exactly how many full S Stock set pairs have been introduced so far, this year as full, working, trains on the District line?
I did think LU were giving themselves an extraordinary amount of wriggle room by saying that the replacement of stock would be finished by the end of 2016.
At the rate things are going it's beginning to look rather optimistic!
