When can we expect S7 Deliveries to start? Information received yesterday; full MET S8 service by Olympics with first S7 running in June, hopefully.

Yesterday evening, T411 1734 Aldgate-Watford with 21062 leading arrived at Liverpool Street Station and the front 4 passenger doors did not open. The driver opened his cab door, looked back, said nothing to the waiting passengers, closed his door, made no on-train announcement, closed the remaining doors and departed. Since the platform was busy as there had been a gap of about 4 mins, several passengers were unable to get back to the nearest open door to board this train. Any of these passengers specifically wanting for a semi-fast Watford train were either left with a 16 minute wait or take the next train and change where necessary.
18 months into passenger service, surely this S Stock door system anomaly is not a feature that we're going to have to live with permanently?

That being so, are we to assume that any S7 workings in the near future will have to be the S8-1 sets? And indeed if that is the case, the H&C punters will have transverse seats for only a short while, until they get their real S7s

graeme186: I had something with train 21019 (I think) it was yesterday, where at Hillingdon, all the doors open (as expected) but the leading car having the 'Door Not In Use' lights illuminated while the doors were open.

I remember from a couple of weeks ago, when I was sitting on a northbound train formed of A stock which was calling at Preston Road and seeing an S stock train (I think it was 21081) starting to accelerate away from the station, but with all doors open! The train stopped almost immediately after starting and all doors closed and the train then departed. Hopefully something like this doesn't happen during rush hour!

Can they not postpone the Olympics until 2013, so the H&C and Circle lines get new stock and a bit more time to give the system a lick of paint and new seat cushions. ;D Maybe it has been mentioned before, but will the A stock railtour be taking place after the Olympics and I wonder if the last A stock in passenger service will get a mention on the local TV news as did the last R stock back in 1983 on ITV Thames News?

What a typical ETA for S Stock Trains being delivered through key points like Amersham, Chalfont, Harrow, Wembley Park and then delivery to Neasden?

Recently delivered 21089/90 discraced itself tonight and was withdrawn from service due to a defect with the in cab platform identification equipment. I know, because I was on the train! Poor show.... ;D

Where will S7's be delivered to? I'm assuming they'll continue to be delivered by rail.

I'm assuming they'll then be transferred to either Hammersmith or Barking by their own power?

I'm not really expecting anyone to know this yet, but are 21001 and 21099 being delivered soon or will they arrive later in the year, after the first S7s?

They will be the last trains to be delivered. I realise they are supposed to be the last two S8s, but I don't think it would take until 2015 for them to be ready. I meant will they arrive immediately after the last production S8 is delivered or will it be several months later, after some S7s?

I've been told that they will come immediately after the S8's before, as in if they continue to come weekly they will come on 10th & 17th July (although I know they want to get all S8's and a couple S7's delivered by the Olympic Games).

Just to summarise, there are three S8 -1, as follows: T22, T29 and now T17. Is it possible to convert these train numbers into set numbers please? Also what is their the current status and location(s)? Thanks Andy

Any ideas where TfL will be running the S7s? It would be nice if they ran some on the Wimbledon to Edgware Road service when the Wimbledon Tennis events are on. It is a pity that there is not the flexibility to have some S7s in service and allowing some 8 car C stocks to be formed up.

Giving the Wimbledonware branch priority for the S7's during the Wimbledon Tennis.

District Line will be last to be converted (wimblewares before the main District).

The two prototypes will be the real prototypes but suitably modified to the same standard as the rest of the fleet. They have not been, nor will be, scrapped.
