When will the S stock start getting adverts in the train? The advert slots for the initial trains are filled up with the posters advertising the new trains but I recall one S stock I travelled on having nothing in the advert slots.

I've got a current WTT for the Met', can anyone out there suggest which trips I'm likely to find an S stock on, either over the weekend or Monday before mid-afternoon?

Weekends are supposed to be the worst time. On any day though just stand around on the Baker St. platforms for a wee bit and you'll almost certainly get one that's going to Uxbridge.

Do it on the Monday its worth it If you want S8s, these can be found on: 441/451 & 462 (Morning Peak) No idea on Aldgates, haven't seen any Its best to wait at Harrow for the S-stock

As I'll be turfed off Sarah/38ts around Harrow, I might have a nose around there; it's not somewhere I've spent much time at.

I think I'll go S-Stock hunting on Monday then, I'm staying at Euston, so I'm guessing Euston Square would be a good place to hang around looking. THe question in when, before breakfast, after breakfast but before lunch, after lunch, so many decisions....

I think I said elsewhere (in one of the threads) that a "cut and cover"station would be a good place to start. Euston Square is such a place. As for meal times, it could be before or after any of them. Best take a packed lunch ;D

A disgruntled customer, for whatever reason known only to themselves, keep their foot in such a manner that it obstructed the doors. The only way in which said customer could be removed was by de-training the train (which had also developed an easy to rectify "fault") and running it off empty to depot.

That sounds like an excellent idea, there's no chance of me missing anything unusual then!

Oh, you do like to tease! Perhaps I'll sit out on the platform at Baker Street southbound with a couple of revision books and past papers in a deckchair, waiting for it

I think if you do that you'll attract more attention than me with my packed lunch at Euston Square!

I think when the S-stock arrives at the station we'll be both boring in comparison!

21003+21004 was operating as T431 between Aldgate and Uxbridge this afternoon. Will the S8s be going to Aldgate [more] regularly from now on?

I also went on the S-stock to Aldgate, got to admit the ride quality is superb compared to the A/C-stocks on that section as usual loads of surprised looks by people seeing a shiny new train come into the platform

Will there be a possibility of the same happening anytime next week? I did decide in the end that passing exams would be more important than going to London today - but it *is* half term next week! Please? ;D

The air-con was quite noticeable and very nice.

These should be regular workings M-F with the S Stock due to arrive at Aldgate at 12:27, 14:47, 20:27 and 22:47. I found the air-con was pitched just right today, but it was hard not to attempt to 'step down' from the car when alighting, when of course the floor/platform levels are the same. Other passengers seemed oblivious to the new train.

Presumably as the number of S Stock increase. A T/Op today stuck his head out and said they have 9 trains in the yard but only ever 3 in service.

Other passengers seemed oblivious to the new train. This is because most people don't know or care what they're travelling in as they're not interested in the slightest, no more than I'm interested in golf, a popular past-time I'm led to believe. It must be terrible for the designers when, whatever clever arguments for and against we come up with on here, their magnificent creations largely go unnoticed by the great travelling public. Unless of course there's a delay, in which case it will seem that, according to the same populace, the new trains have never ever run on time ever, even if they can't tell the difference between an S and an A.

These timings are correct but will only be valid in the short term. Oh, really...? Are we allowed to know how "short" and why? Because the trains used are by no means ideal when it comes to meshing in with our current service plans (and nobody in service control was consulted before they were chosen - so somebody - me - had to formulate a plan to make sure both parties were happy.) Come July, both the Met and H&C will have "new" working timetables (even though the H&C only introduced their newest one yesterday). So all arrangements will change. For now, expect to see the S-stock in the city off-peak on trains 431 and 474.
