A poster on an email group has said the following as an aside -
I can't find anything about it on the website though. Does anyone know anything?

Yes, it will be on the Lakerboo and Jubbly lines. It includes the old Jubbly Charing X platforms.

Where does one get tickets?

I've been sent a copy of the leaflet by my contact at the museum. Can probably host it somewhere if people want to see it. It does not mention anything about being able to book tickets as yet, saying that more information will be available on the website.
Also note that there is no suggestion that this will be the last run ever on the Jubilee, just the last until they sort out the resignalling. Everybody I have spoken to about this is very confident that there will be some way of making the 38 compatible with the new signalling.

Any chances of a future railtour where the 38 goes on the JLE? I know it would be an interesting sight to see 38's at stations with PED's.

My understanding is that the 38 is not permitted to run east of Green Park on the Jubilee Line.

Thats interesting, it'd certainly be in gauge though. So is it because its just such a critical section? It'd still be able to call at Stratford, West Ham and Canning Town though

Does this mean that only the 1996 (and 1995?) stocks are allowed to run through/call at stations with PEDs in passenger service?

My understanding is that the 38 is not permitted to run east of Green Park on the Jubilee Line. Except to go to Charing Cross.

Presumably though other long stocks like the 73ts and the 95ts would still match the PED orifices?

Don't think 73ts would fit - its a little shorter and the doors may not line up as they are narrower.

Well, not that any other stock (including the '95) will be required to call at stations with PEDs in passenger service! I meant call at the JLE PED stations. Historically there has been a lot of swapping of trains around between lines, and I believe that the allowed and not allowed routes of all stock are officially noted, even if them ever traversing that track is highly unlikely.

Oh right, that's what I was thinking. That why would any other stock have to run on the JLE in normal passenger service! But now I understand. Thanks for the clarification!

Was there any truth in this rumour in the end? I'm assuming you weren't at Acton Depot on the 7th/8th, as they were giving out leaflets about the trip! It is sometime in April, but tickets are not available yet.

Of course football takes priority over EVERYTHING... same when it is on at the same time as Eastenders, BBC1 cancel Eastenders to show the bloody match (even though there are loads of sport specific channels)... can't upset the football folk !

Of course football takes priority over EVERYTHING... Including how high the salary is for players who just kick a ball around a muddy field, compared to hard-working people like firemen, paramedics, police!

Hmm; I could see the reasoning very easily if the railtour was being worked on the Met with the 12tph SB off Wembley Park pfm 6 and the 6 tph SB off Wembley Park pfm 5 during the return traffic period. But then the Met to Baker Street is capable of an easy 24tph so that leaves 6tph available for the passing rail tour trade..........
