A small number of '38 sub-surface stock was scrapped at Cohens yard, Kettering, Northamptonshire. Also known as Cransley scrapyard. Also standard stock as shown in this link: - www.phantasrail.co.uk/cransley.htm

I believe that a fair amount of '38 stock went to Long Marsden for scrapping.

The sleepers across the suicide pit are temporary whilst the 'pit blocks' are renewed. The sleepers are there to prevent the road spreading while the concrete around the new pit blocks is going off. Also there is probably a temporary 10 MPH speed limit in place.

AFAIK '72 stock is not fitted with CCTV unless it has been recently installed.

The diagram panels at Cobourg Street for the Northern & the Victoria Lines had to be removed and traced on site. Luckily none of the original panels shattered on removal or replacement back into the frames.

I think it was 20 years ago that we were told by a certain Mr Fish that we would not be hit with a hurricane and next morning we were.

Somehow I don't think that London is as well prepared for a storm of this magnitude.

Go to www.schweerbau.de/en/pages/sfu.html then click on RGM, which I think is the actual rail grinding unit. I don't know about London Underground being classed as Light Rail by this company!

High speed crossover is highly unlikely due to sever space restrictions in the crossover tunnel. The only way would be to enlarge the crossover tunnel towards Lambeth North. The sidings south of the station would also have to be moved further south to accommodate the high speed over run protection. I don't think that the expense would be worth the time gained. The money would be better spent extending the line southwards and terminating in a 3 road terminus. Taking into account the many speed restrictions on the Bakerloo Line the installation of a high speed crossover at Elephant would be a waste of money

Also add in the severe speed restriction over the crossover when reversing south to north, trains would soon be blocking back to Baker Street southbound.

Have a look at the label on the relay case, it says 1GR which is the signal relay for 1's signal.
