Ok, just to clarify, when you reply to a title, you're meant to start the next one. If you've missed replying to a title, then reply to the next one. One reply per title, basically.
The idea is to keep a continuous thread going with one new song title per post.
So here's another...

I stole this idea from another forum I'm a member of. Basically, you finish the song title incorrectly, then put up another one for someone else to finish.
It can get quite amusing once a few entries are down.
I'll start with a bit of Iron Maiden... :-)

So there's been a few red buses been tipped on their side in movies, etc, and probably a few been blown up.
But how about tube trains? One ever been blown up for a movie etc?

Ok, I've finally got back home and had some sleep - had a hectic week last week and it caught up with me after the tour! Thanks very much to Dave for organizing this. I enjoyed being a part of a piece of history! And also thanks to Colin, aspect and everyone else who was there and made it a good time. Pictures and videos will follow once I get them resized and uploaded! Looking forward to any future tours, especially if they're cross-line!

In a word: yes.
It started (off the top of my head, as I don't have it here) on the 9th Dec. I picked up a new timetable book when I bought my tickets up to London on Friday.

Saw a single D-stock carriage on the M25 this evening, nice and shiny. Didn't note the number tho as I was driving. Don't recall the exact location, but the junction numbers must've been in the high teens.

worse thing that any goverment has ever done was to privatise the railways , if everything was kept in house so to speak, these delays would never have happened While it's dead easy to blame the government for this (and many other things), in reality, a lot of what they're doing is EU-driven. I don't have the actual directives to hand at the moment, however things like regionalisation, the forced use of metric measurements (remember that guy who was all over the news for selling meat in imperial measurements?) and privatisation are all EU measures that the government (and governments before this one) have been rubber-stamping to make them as law in this country. Anyone aware of the new(ish) EU ruling that says that in a couple of years' time, right hand drive cars will not be allowed on the continent? BMW put out an ad recently advertising a new car that doesn't have a steering wheel - controlled by your eyes. If I can find it, I'll scan it and post it up here somewhere.

Whilst staying up in London recently, I noted down all the times from the bus stop outside my flat onto my mobile.
Now I'm back, and knowing TFL put the bus timetables up on their website, I went and pulled down the timetable for the stop I use.
And found the times are different from the times posted up on the bus stop!
So which is correct - the one on the website, or the one posted up on the bus stop? And why the difference?

Late night musings... it's nearly 5am...
Every time I take a train up to London, it's routed Clapham, Wimbledon, Waterloo. So, my first and last LU trains I see are whatever trains the District sends down to Wimbledon at that time.
I've never counted the tracks at Wimbledon, nor do I know what routings are available. Is it possible for LU trains to be routed over NR metals, and vice versa? I'm assuming there's no electrical way it would work, but is it physically possible?

Ok, I thought I'd posted this already, but it's not here, so... I'm pretty happy with those two pics being Euston and St. John's Wood - matches what I was doing on those two days. Here's a close-up of that signal for anyone who's interested. Thanks! :-)

Was going thru my collection of tube pics, and found this one... where is it?! I can visualize the platform, even the rather large roundel at the end of the platform which I stood next to to take this pic, but I can't remember the name! To my right, just about in the pic, is an area of platform that's boarded off, and judging by the dirt on what was inside there, has been for a while. There's also a tannoy speaker mounted on said boards, right about the roundel. I'm 99% sure this is a Northern line platform, and that the platform that runs alongside this one (thru a short passageway) is either Vic or Bakerloo... Is this Warren Street? Ok, no Bakerloo, but it seems a good guess? And how's about this one? I've got a feeling it's either on the Picc or the Jubilee... Thanks!

Because it's 4:50am and I'm super-tired, I decided to pull up the ETA board for Canary Wharf... don't ask why.
A train apparently left North Greenwich, heading towards Canary Wharf, before 4:45am... it's still somewhere between stations now (4:51am), while the ETA board states "Due in 1 min".
Any ideas on this? System glitch? Very, very, very slow train? Train stopped in tunnel to look at the track/tunnel/etc? Tunnel cleaning?
[edit]
Just as an afterthought... there's also a Northern train between Central and East Finchley, destination of "Special", while the Jubilee train is "Not in Service"... at this time of the morning, is the destination set at the T/Op's discretion, or is is just a line difference? (This train also seems to be taking a long time to get between those two stations!)

Jim - be VERY careful buying Windows from eBay - there's a LOT of pirated / not legit software up there. If you're after a Windows 2000 licence sticker and CD, send me a PM.

As for win 2k recovery mode, if its not user friendly then I still recommend a re-install. Perhaps. But there can be all sorts of issues with reinstalling over the top of an existing install. 2k and XP are both known for erasing existing user profiles under certain circumstances. Maybe the best course of action for Jim would be to boot from a Windows 2000 CD and run a "repair" install instead of a re-install. I've done a number of these on damaged installs, and touch wood, every one has been successful. If Jim boots from the Windows 2000 CD, part of the setup process is to search for existing Windows installs. It should detect his existing installation of Windows and offer to repair it. Once the repair installation has completed, best to download the latest Service Pack from Microsoft and install that. Or even better, run Windows Update and download the Service Pack and other updates from there. But at least, get the latest Service Pack on.
