so what will be on there aftrr demlishing? like new retial or housing? This entrance will be replaced by a more accessible one under the Paddington Square development which will take the place of the old red brick Post Office building seen in the photo above. London Road and the Paddington Ramp will be merged and fully pedestrianised leaving no trace of the original entrance footprint. nice so new lifts to bakerloo tucket hall? but i am unsure if that is accesisble via ticket hall to bakerloo since crossrail has connectiob to bakerloo line with lifts

cophagen had open above ground stations execpt airport had no platform edge doors but sometime around 2013 to 2018 i think they started fitting them on above ground stations - that meant no line closure just had single tracking around work site
airport has full platform edge doors
so also can we go back on topic?

I believe the works at Hanwell, including new lifts, is a TfL sponsored piece of work so outside the scope of this contract award. I understand the contract for those works was awarded quite a while ago (similar applies at a few other stations which are not getting substantial rebuilds). Yup, back in Dec 2017 TfL gave contracts for Hanwell, Iver, Langley and Taplow to Murphy. The lifts will now come up from the existing subway corridor and not from a new footbridge separate from the listed structures as was initially desired. Approved plans linked here
Impressions of the upgraded station here and here from a New Civil Engineer article hereapproved plans link seems has gone - check that?

There are intermediate shafts on the Victoria line. Some are escape shafts. On Crossrail the shafts have two staircases. One is for escape and the other for emergency services to access track level. The lift is an escape route for wheelchair users. There's lifts in the shafts? Wow. yes - in Jubbiee line extestion - there is evaucation lifts at each station which provides escape route out of station for disabled persons - crossrail has those i think

i agree with it - this concoruse has no lifts however i think its would be easier to install 2nd lift from this side so more disabled people can use this side also make easier connections

well they could coverent to large walkway over to other platforms like that can be easily done just put down covers on top of tracks - if platform ever reopens one day the covers can be easily removed
