so that's means new step free route? interchanging between two stations would be good or still use on street to interchange for disabled access?

i think trains should have backup battery to allow move trains without power in stations quickly eg if train stalls outside of station then driver could pressed emergency move button to move train forward - once the train is in station safety - driver could press emergency release doors - this opens all doors on side of platform with battery power also they should have emergency food pack stored in case of emergencies like train broken down between two stations for hours long
somewhere there was news about trapped passegners on trains for 14 hours - the crosscountry had desiel power which powers everything on train so they said people was fed and waterd and had heat while other train was southwestern one which had problems - no food or water

well video by geoff said its wide - more simllar to N greenwitch station on island platforms
also there is step free routes - geoff showed one of lifts (background of him talking about it) - i believe there is 4 lifts - 2 from street to concourse (ticket hall) then 2 lifts to platform - i am not sure if its correct? - maybe there 3rd lift?

Charing Cross was not kept as a branch because then there would be more trains on the quieter western part of the line than the very busy extension, which is overcrowded as it is. I believe trains can't run there in service because of platform access issues - the escalators have been decommissioned and at least one passageway has been sealed off by a wall (with doors in, but nowhere near wide enough to safely cater for crowds). I think it can still be used in an emergency though. well not true - i believe there was speical event while ago - trains serviced the CX for speical event - i beileve its was tube flim night - the escalators used as stairways however i agree the CX should used as emergency detraining example few trains go to CX to tip out the passegners in event of emergency its still useable in fliming as well - sometimes trains are serving CX for fliming as well with passegeners in it

also public can do x signal if they think its in danger - i did once when i was in wheelchair and got stuck on doors on national train years ago so i faced to guard and put my arms crossing over to form X so guard reopened the doors and helped us

i agree - i think guards should been returned to tube - as passegener assitants - like DLR staff on trains - they check platforms before giving GO signal to computer on fully automated systems - there gererally a sensors around doorways and platform edge so if sesor detects passgener is trapped then train will not move on non platform edge doors stations - there generally a line of senesors above and/or on trackbed to detect persons
in platform edges station - the full size PEDS ususally have sesnors which prevents accidents from happening
in sweden in stockholm on new underground cityline - guard operates platform edges doors and checks platform before giving signal
most them have staff aboard to ensure safety of passegners
the local door for guard is usually in cabs or veslible - on mainline trains - guard takes up the local door - he checks before closing local door on newer trains - guard uses any doors that has local control panel for that door and all other doors
i prefer safer trains with two or three staff on it - to ensure passegners dont have accidents

i notice the final exit door on picture, that door dont have panic bar to open door - its really silly to put handle on door with lock
what happens if its was real fire - its would be impossible to escape if that door is locked - i think TFL should install panic bar doors for escape

very nice - one big thing i noticed - they building large concourse above dlr - i recall plans was not like that - just 3 bridges spanning over dlr platforms

well also i was wondering why the new ticket hall closed (step free unavailable) so i think one thing - they might been working on new passageway and new ticket hall

i have question - what stations will look like?

I would rather that the closure of entrance 3 / 4 had been delayed until the replacements were ready to open. The station is busy enough and really cant manage with just the one entrance. Simon quote from press release there is two more exits from main entrance and also the other end ticket hall has other exit so its should be enough to handle traffic in and out but for step free access i am confused - so there should be 3rd lift between platform and upper passageway - the press release says two 17 person lifts - so i think its refers to main original lifts between street and upper passageway - i am not sure fully i wished there was proper station plans showing changes

normally help points should been connected to Main control room if no one at station - its should been automatic connect to main control where they can get help if station staff isnt around - also other transport systems have help points - some have telephones (Warsaw metro has bright yellow telephones box) Holland (both metros) have help points with info and emergency however at unstaffed stations - there always one staff behind office as we got stuck because lift didnt work properly and staff came out from office its happened in rotterdam metro stockholm is always manned with one or two staff in ticket halls depends station size - sometimes large station has 5 staff or more behind glass but sometimes often see staff around on platforms russia - moscow has staff - at ticket hall and bottom of escalators finland has metro its has help points and stations are unmanned

The Jubilee line level is numbered -7 at Bond Street. Is that the lowest-numbered floor in London open to the public? correct - that's what is displayed on lift map however crossrail might be lowest level at bond street - not sure yet

in geoffs video there is staff level at 0 on Lift B also -4 on jubbiee line lift - i think its a new access point for crossrail - not sure but button in that lift is large - so i think - the level -4 will open up later

well i dont understand why ticket machines would be installed next year in that ticket hall - its easier if installed one right away for disabled person they have to go to other entrance to get tickets then come back to step free entrance i think TFL should placed ticket machine in first before opening new ticket hall

But no temporary footbridge at the east end of the platforms this time? its cant be fit the temporay footbridge in that location because its undergound - the access can be done via main stairways or lift (westbound) while eastbound would have staircase open

well i had looked at plans but i am concerned about 2 main lifts - they serve 5 levels could be very busy resulting long waits and i agree Proctor Street should be accessible as well - like one at Totteaham street station which has two ticket halls with lifts so i believe more lifts = less waiting for lifts at peak times

its temporary as i found advice about escalator outage - Quote from TFL status on website
CANNING TOWN: Until late November, there will be a reduced escalator service at Canning Town station. This is while we carry out planned refurbishment work on two escalators, one at a time.
The first escalator out of service is one of four that runs between the ticket hall and Jubilee line. This will be followed by one of two escalators leading to and from the station entrance/bus station.During this time please follow signs to an alternative escalator, staircase or lift.

A and C and i think D stocks did this - some half lights go off and half lights on but while in deep tubes - its very rare to have half of lights go off - the refurbished deep tube stock now dont go off straightaway but however not sure about S stocks - i think new all connected in one unit

One good idea used on trains overseas, It is a lighting strip of LED's adjacent every doorway, which remains dark when the train is in motion, and turns Green once the doors begin to open. The strips turn to red just before the doors begin to close, and the door close buzzers begin to sound a few seconds after the strips turn red. When the doors are securely shut, the strips go dark again, and the train moves off. croydon trams has one that has LED lights above doors however the asterdam metro newer trains has led strips on sides of doorway frame red will flash when doors are closing

yes i remember copehagen metro started as 5 to 12 am with no night service - this latter expanded to 24/7 with single tracking in nights - fully automated so DLR can run 24 hours no matter if they have issues
