Forgot to add that the DMI at Baker Street (or the system that feeds it, should I say) failed to identify the service and just showed "Check front of train".

I think most of you have pretty much got it. So at King's Cross St Pancras, the westbound SSL platform DMI showed a Wimbledon service. The S7 that arrived also identified itself as a District line service on its side display. The driver didn't conceal the 'fact' that it was a District Line service to Wimbledon.
I assumed it was quite a frequent occurrence as I don't get the SSL services much, nor do I check the goings-on in these forum quite enough.

I was lucky(?) enough to step on board a District Line train at Kings Cross St Pancras this evening. You guys probably know how and why it happens so I won't go into detail. I'd like to know how often it happens and under what circumstances?

I've noticed the stretch just as you leave Finsbury Park eastbound is particularly noisy. Is this related in any way?

Tell you what I DID like.. the cute animated graphic at the bottom of the page (best viewed on a desktop computer). Now, if only there was a way of getting it onto my phone's lock screen!

Thanks. I'll keep my eye on the board for any updates during the course of the day. Love your photos. Oh, and no, it's not a motherboard: it's a radio!

To anyone who isn't aware. Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September is Open House Weekend And because of this, what time will this meet end? I wouldn't mind joining after Open House on the Saturday.. which'll probably be finishing around 6.

Was on a Ealing Broadway to Edgware Road service today. Noted the numbers 5522 and 6555 (or was it 5666?).

Thanks for your uploads, tubelightonline. I particularly enjoyed reliving the Westminster moment in video #12! (Oh.. to feel like a kid again!) Really glad you managed to capture that one. It also jogged my memory of meeting Mr "Oh, don't mind me, I'm just playing on my phone and have no intention of boarding your train even though I'm standing right in front of the doors" at Earl's Court.
Thanks, bluegoblin7. I see you managed to snap the elusive roundel at Upminster station!

Haha! Nice spot of the annoyed passenger! I didn't catch that until you pointed it out.
I thought the 'waving' game at the southern arc of the Circle line stations were a lot more funny.. you had some genuinely puzzled people there with some hilarious face-pulling/screwing involved.
At this point I should also point out an error in the captions. The clip at 1407 wasn't quite on the District line just yet. I think it was somewhere between South Ealing and Acton Town.

I've uploaded a compilation of the video clips I took on the day onto YouTube.
I don't know if it's a schoolboy error on my part or if it's just that Premiere Elements is a useless piece of software... but the resolution has turned out at 480p, despite my shooting at 720p. (Turns out you have to define the resolution from the outset, otherwise the alternative is to start the project ALL OVER AGAIN just to make the correction). Ah, well.
Enjoy. Photos still to come.

My video of the train at Harrow on the Hill, Chorleywood, Ruislip, Sudbury Town, South Ealing and Dagenham East: Nice videos you have there. Makes me almost sad that I was ON the train, unable to enjoy it whizzing by! Also loving Chris W's pictures. I'm very jealous of the camera you have! The photos are brilliant. Thanks to all who made it such a great day yesterday. Was good to meet a few "new faces".. (even though it turns out you've been on here all the time!) just a shame you guys don't live close enough to London to be able to meet up more often! I've got some general video footage as well as a number of photos which I'll pop onto Facebook soon. If there's someone who wants to compile a video using my footage, please feel free to get in touch with me, as it'll save me time putting it together (in a rather rubbish way, anyway!) Vinnie, Car F.

My tickets arrived this morning; is anyone else on here booked into Car F? Yup! My ticket's yet to arrive, though.

All but a handful of Freeview decoders these days no longer have RF modulators. So SCART is a must.

You just answered the question of the people opposite me when the lights went out; they wondered if you could press a button to turn all the lights off (they were assuming the lights off was a loss of power or something) - and they were wondering if you could then run a train through stations without stopping, with people dressed as zombies and ghosts with the lights turned off! I'd made a similar request as well, but a negative message was radioed back to our car steward after he'd relayed the request on. So I was a little pleased when the lights did go out, albeit for only a split second. But yes, I'd be well up for a Halloween tour of the tube! Here are my pics of the day: www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150196589137569.307520.516972568&l=a86431aa20Any corrections to the captions welcome. A slight disappointment that I didn't get to see my first running S-stock, but it was still a very enjoyable day out. Sadly there were still a few wallies around (fortunately in the minority) using flash ... please stop and learn how to control your cameras which will, as a result, help you capture better images Ah, you've got to admire the optimism of tourists in the London Eye at night, hoping to illuminate the whole of London from their capsules!

Has anyone seen the line maps as you approach the Covent Garden station platforms? It seems Aldwych is being reinstated for peak hours only! (BTW, it wasn't me)
