It's not on the Central line or in Shepherd's Bush.

What non-electric stock? Do you have drivers that are trained on both it and the route? Can it be maintained at (presumably) Chingford? A quick look at the Wikipedia article suggests that the last time diesel trains ran in regular passenger service to Chingford was circa 1960.

Another thing to consider is that although the headline works are at Clapton there may be other works taking place that can only be done during a line closure on other parts of the branch at the same time.

Most lines are a slightly different colour Are minor colour changes like this usual? Have the colours of lines on the tube map been similarly tweaked before? In the digital era, probably it's happened before but I haven't gone through and checked. I might do so next time I'm bored!

It was sent to me as a picture of somewhere else. It's been far too many years since I've been there to verify myself. Yeah, does look like it is Stogumber. MoreToJack seems to have labelled it as Crowcombe Heathfield in their collection. This might help StogumberInset A2: Chafford Hundred - platform in September 2015 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset C2: Clock House - clock on station building in March 2013 [Chris M] (click for a larger version)

You sure D3 isn't Stogumber? It was sent to me as a picture of somewhere else. It's been far too many years since I've been there to verify myself. Location B is Crossharbour Station Location B: Crossharbour - stairs from Pepper Street to concourse in February 2019 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location D is Chadwell Heath station Location D: Chadwell Heath - eastbound TfL Rail platform in October 2020 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Well I think we've got the link as C_ H_! [Corssharbour] is the odd one out as all others are 2 word stations beginning with C & H Link and odd one out: These are all stations with two-word names starting C H, except Crossharbour the station to replace Crossharbour would be Custom House And a missing link might be Custom House. Fifth in set: Custom House The image on Picture B1 Christs Hospital station is Christs Hospital. There is only one inset in image B and the version above is unmodified, the picture of Christ's Hospital is actually at the station Missing images: Inset D1: Crowcombe Heathfield - up platform in October 2022 [ MoreToJack ] (click for a larger version) Inset D2: City Hall tram stop, Sheffield in September 2015 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Insets A2, C2 and D3 are all that remains I think

The human eye can detect millions (at least) different shades of colours (or at least those with "normal" vision). What it can't do is distinguish that many, however careful placement of colours and reuse of colours with different patterns (e.g. TfL Rail and the Piccadilly line used the same shade of blue, the Weaver line and Metropolitan line will use the same shade of maroon; the Black and White tube map uses 18 different patterns) can significantly reduce the number needed.

That will depend on how Network Rail choose to resignal the line.

Regarding your off topic, one possibility is that they are included in the initial plans but then descoped as "value engineering" without impacting the actually intended scope.

Anything that appears on an image but is not mentioned in the question is either a clue or a red herring. Which is for you to figure out.

Training District drivers on the route would be a simple (although not necessarily quick or cheap) thing to do if it was seen as desirable to stable that line's trains there regularly. The other factors though rather suggest that these sidings won't be compensating for Lille Bridge.

Once the Piccadilly depot upgrades are completed, would any of the siding space at South Harrow be available for District line use, and if so would that be practical? I know there are (or at least were in D stock days) speed restrictions for surface stock on that branch but I believe at least some of those were due to lack of paperwork to prove clearance rather than physical limits - doing that paperwork would obviously be within the scope of a plan to stable S stock on those sidings and so not an impediment. That's not to say though that there aren't other things that are impediments.

In addition to this, the route from Leytonstone Platform 1 - Leyton is blocked today due to an engineering vehicle (no description of what), so trains leaving platform 1 have to use the crossover just west of platform 1 (rather from the one in the Leyton area) I happened to get a photograph of an engineering vehicle there yesterday from a Goblin train. I didn't know it was there so only captured it incidentally, but the following is a crop of the relevant part of the image (click for a slightly larger version)

The blue on the loop is/was the same as the text blue, Piccadilly line blue, step-free blue and (going back a bit) TfL Rail blue.
