I was told it was made to dig an experimental tunnel from there and the experimental bit is what is sealed off. Something to do with planning for the Victoria construction methods. I suppose doing it so close to the platform gave easier access? The only physical alterations to tunnelling on the Pic to do with the actual Victoria Line at Finsbury Park is on the W/B.

I agree with Stig! The bus oyster readers are good because they actually state a reason such as (the very understandable): "not enough money" or "card communication error". The driver could at least have informed the passenger to check this in future! But then it was probably one of those drivers who stares at me as if I had a miniature elephant riding unicycle with me when I say hello!

The bridge over the south Acton to gunnersbury tracks is longer and crosses at quite a diagonal angle compared to the short and more perpendicular one for the line going to brentford and Kew bridge. And the angle looks right when passing in a train on the bridge. I think...

It's the South Acton to Brentford line going under the Pic/District looking south taken from the level crossing I think

Depending mafia or rota or pool or reserve it's 1 week, infinity (more or less), 1 week, 4weeks respectively from my experience. For the one week notice you find out on a Thursday afternoon what you will be doing the following week commencing Sunday. The price you pay for mafia "perks". Rest days are not always two days; could be 1-2-3 or 4. But not normally 2 in a row all the time in general. 12 hours minimum between shifts which is good!

You can't really compare the "we've always done it that way" in terms of operational procedures (such as door operations) and how Xmas and boxing day are treated. I think..

I agree, although poor Hatton Cross got the platform frieze signs changed from the old blue with White lettering to White with blue lettering (modern style). What the point was I don't know because to me at least it looks weirder now... T123 next...

Don't forget 4h15 is the driving time limit but 5h15 is the maximum "on-duty" time without an unpaid break. So you could run T30 to Mansion House and stable Ealing Common. Then to have enough meal relief time pick up the next train at Act E instead of the West with the previous driver doing the Broadway and back. Don't know what the latter's duty is. Just thought I'd suggest it for a laugh. On the Pic there are a few very long halves (4h53 second half on 489 for eg). Anyway running to HST is fine, people need to get there as well!

As previously mentioned visible staff at T5 LU station are HEX (heathrow express) staff, all be it only working on the Pic platforms and gateline. They have their own control room and their own radio system. The LU staff present are not allowed to deal with the gateline and were probably busy with the operational issues at hand if there was more then the one there. This is my own point of view now but BAA charge a lot for the HEX to take you to Paddington which is not always useful for all or a quicker way to reach your final destination when compared to the Underground. There is a good reason the T5 ticket office and staff and platform staff are BAA HEX employees: to generate more HEX revenue. Also you have to think that you can't deal with each customer individually so for them it's easier to just everybody onto a HEX train while (not necessarily on purpose) omitting the detail to get off at heathrow central for the Pic.
