One of the recurring problems of the current CBTC software I’m afraid. All end-car doors indicated as “door not in use” at reversing points, Tower Hill etc.

So we've done doors, what about the shoe beams? My pure guess would be the bogie without a beam was a trailer one, as it was presumed four motor bogies would be too powerful for a 2-car train?

Today was the first day I noticed T/Ops changing over at Bank which meant quicker turn-around times. I can also see the W&C line is currently open which suggests it has now fully re-opened. I didn't notice this on Tuesday 23rd so must've been very recent. As posted above, from Monday 22 November

TFL don't seem bothered at the moment. I usually get an update if they expect a strike to cause disruption. Internally they’re telling Staff:

The RMT has called a strike for this coming weekend. Does anyone know whether this will affect Friday's day service or just the running down in the evening? The RMT action prevents booking-on from 0430 on Friday 26-0429 on Saturday 27 on Central Jubilee Northern Piccadilly and Victoria Lines

Thanks - I knew that there were some controls behind but got it the wrung way round! (they were on the back panel as the Operator would be looking back down the straight platform at each station.)

Some “long arm” tactics may solve the problem! The 1992 stock was the first attempt at a truly modern driving cab, and was a lot better than the first ATO stock (1967), which had the start buttons behind the driver. The door controls were behind the driver, the ATO start buttons were conveniently placed in front of the driver below the speedometer and air gauges.

Was this approach also taken for the 1995/96 stock? I don’t believe any external work was done on those.

Does this refurb include a repaint of the exterior? As mentioned sometime previously in this thread, a team of experts was brought in to examine the existing paintwork and was found to be in good condition, under the grime! A trial polishing of one car proved successful, so i believe that is still the plan for the majority of cars.

Is the project really going ahead or has the whole thing secretly been scrapped for now? The project is definitely going ahead, as shown in the posts above detailing the movements just after they happen. With 4x 2-car units at Ruislip, 4x 2-car units at Asfordby Test Track and 4x 2-car units in Acton Works it certainly isn't on hold.

I wonder what the PiS boards will look like. As said up thread they will cover the top (probably quarter) of the existing large window space.

Hopefully the signal lights have all been powered down by now . . . . Is there a programe to remove these potentially distracting legacy signalling? Legacy signalling is powered down and there is no programme to remove them.

I assume that these RM Hold boards are white with a red slash (top right to lower left)? Why do I ask? I am currently editing my next YouTube video and it will include a train stopping at one of these boards. The train had just left Roding Valley station and joined the main line from Epping,* and in the distance the back of the train in front can be seen passing a red signal immediately prior to arriving at Woodford station. *Although just outside Roding Valley station I think this is called Woodford Junction. what you describe on the Central Line are ATP marker boards. CBTC SSR (and Northern/Jubilee TBTC are similar) RM Hold board:

This redevelopment of the depot has a new signal box, is this a replacement for the Piccadilly Line control room and signalling centre that’s now at Pelham Street , South Kensington ? No plans to replace Piccadilly Control Room, would suggest local depot control tower (eg. Neasden/Upminster) or signalling equipment room.

SO how is this done safely? Are the two coupled, and how? Brake working on tube train? etc. Looks like a special coupling adapter, surface:tube, no air connection, so just handbrake on the 483?
