Now the SSL signalling system is being re-tendered,wouldn't it make sense to change it to Seltrac?Would save a lot of hassle.

Part of 3204 unit(one of the discarded test liveries)was used in 3016 unit,I believe 3116,4116 were turned and renumbered 3016,4016 & 3304,4304 were renumbered 3116,4116.

Possibly extending Seltrac into the depots & sidings so trains run in & out in auto.

058 to 079 are the double ended units,A & D ends change from unit to unit, they're not in blocks like on other stocks,it would take too long to list them here.

The UNDM & 27 Standard trailer units went first as they were non standard, then, once 28 trains of 38TS were EHO'd for the Bakerloo the rest of the 38TS fleet went.

If the picture is as old as it looks,if it was Hanwell Broadway, wouldn't there be trolleybus wires?

I can remember back in the 70's,half the day shift at Hainault, on their way to work, scraping the track in front of a Woodford shuttle with no current off,no hi vis.Nowadays,at SMD if de-icing has to be done it's practically a full blown possession, section to be cleared must have current off, trains powered down, points secured,no wonder the air turns blue when the first snow flake is seen.

Central & Jubilee have motorised section switches and I believe they are being installed on the Victoria as part of the upgrade. On the Jubilee main line section switches are only operated with traction current off but in SMD they can be operated under load.Re the blade type section switches there was no requirement for traction current to be off before they were opened or closed,The Electricity at Work Act changed all that, now it's gone too far the other way current even has to be off for de-icing even though the handles of the brushes and scrapers are made of a non conductive material-wood.

Only a third of the fleet is DFA complient at the moment,I think the work is to bring all trains up to the same software build.

I think the Ward couplers came in 1957 when the 35TS took over the Ongar shuttle.

There was a major collision in Neasden Depot in '73 or '74.An A stock stabling from Wembley was going way too fast and hit another A stock which then hit a 38 stock behind that, the 38 stock pictured could have been involved in that incident.
