Possibly the current announcement sequence doesn't comply with RVAR or perhaps the current TfL/LUL aspirations for content. Quite likely there wasn't a full set of existing audio files to achieve that with the original artiste. Or perhaps the relatively small Bakerloo line fleet gives a convenient opportunity to try adding some variety to the LUL system, this time with a male voice.

I have a vague recollection that some cabs may have been repainted in the cornflower blue used in D78 cabs. Or was that done to all 67TS on refurb? Not sure about console indications. Perhaps a trial of LEDs replacing filament lamps? Perhaps this will jog someone else's memory.

... at North Greenwich ... the indicator board on platform 2 was displaying "Watford 15 min" as the 3rd departure. Really? Another ghost of the Bakerloo connection? Or the idea to give another Met branch to the Jubilee?

I dont understand why tfl spent money on changing the front destination boards on the 95,96 and 73 stocks were changed when they were far better than the ones on the 92s, yet tfl arent bothering with these at all! The 95TS, 96TS and Refurb 73TS front displays were back lit liquid crystal type. While they may have been adequately readable, they were failing at an increasing rate and Tubelines would have been getting increasing PPP Abatements for non-working displays as a result. Quite a sensible decision to renew them all at the same time and use more reliable LED dot matrix type.

OK then, T4 has no interchange with another LUL line, the other railway you can change to has Elizabeth line trains.

T4 only has one platform and is unidirectional.

Possibly light plunge on the Open buttons or dirty contacts somewhere. Motoring and Rheostatic braking all sound good!

Wasn't part of this speculation/optioneering about Crossrail taking over the Met Main line or Chiltern? I seem to recall the reason there's so much headroom under Pinner's 'Bridge of Size' was to give space for the 25kV wires.

I recall 73TS and later stocks being commissioned at Ruislip and again that was in the main shed, not the 3 road cleaning shed, usually known as the Acid Shed. I'm sure 62TS were indeed being cleaned there when I worked on the ETT!
ETT or Experimental Tube Train was the last two 73TS double-ender units. Each fitted initially with DC chopper equipments and odd control desks. Only one 3 car saw service - on Hainault/Woodford - before both were reverted to standard 73TS and belatedly joined the Piccadilly line fleet.

Where did that apostrophe land from!? Not a regular move for S stock. Used more for a Special Service or service recovery. The siding berth is designed and installed to be long enough.

Yes, I've seen photos and descriptions that A stock was delivered to Ruislip, commissioned there then under its own power via N Acton, Ealing Broadway, Ealing Common or Acton Town to Rayners and Neasden. I think the JG Bruce book is one source.

The photo referred to is indeed next to the 1500v dc line somewhere near Sheffield. I think one can just make out CRAVENS or some of it in the sign painted on to the building at the left, so I assume this was just at the factory and the unit was coupled to match wagons and nearly ready for dispatch to London.

Counted about 13 lamps out in one 72TS car this morning. Even if purchase of new fluorescent tubes has stopped because of the coming LED lights, aren't removed ones available for use on as yet unmodified trains?

Judging by what seems to be gear noise as the compressor stopped, Westinghouse DHC2 or DHC5A which were quite similar. The real old 'thumpers' were CP30s, but they were too tall to fit under a Tube car floor. I vaguely remember the rotary vane KLL4, but must have been very young when I witnessed those.

For those who don't like 'doors' in the announcements, how about 'doorway'? The rear doorway, the two rear doorways.... Send your proposals to LUL.

Are the Kentish Town escalators from when LUL was trying less bespoke and arguably less robust and durable escalators perhaps?

I thought the screens showed the carriage numbers are shown on the screens when the trains approach the short platform stations. I think several other postings have drifted into another session about S stock SDO announcements. Good to steer back to Elizabeth line trains!

It's correct that on S stock routes there is no station or individual platform where the 3rd doorway in the front car is not programmed to open. The only platform where the 3rd doorway in a car doesn't open is Baker Street platform 5 (Eastbound and Outer Rail) where all three doorways don't open on the rear car.
