There are a few 'differences' to choose from. 'D' gives no lift identifiers. 'A' particularly promotes disabled use. 'A' has a white background. 'D' has the ticket hall at the bottom. 'C' is staff-operated, as opposed to automatic.

someone has asked me, how well did this train cope with the higher voltage on the SSL? That's a good question. Was it noticeably more 'lively'?

They'll be valuable collectors' items soon. Don't bid too high, though. They self-shred in five seconds. Good luck, Jim!

I have clearly misunderstood section (7.1).
I mistakenly thought it referred to events yet to happen, rather than subsequent reports of such events.
Good job I live so far away. I could have inadvertently got myself into trouble!

I hadn't noticed that. Railways have been required to be fenced since very early days. I wonder how it came about?

I'm familiar with this film, but every time I watch it I see something new. It had never occurred to me that the station signs were put up for the benefit of the film; yet now it's pointed-out, it's totally obvious. If you had to have it pointed out to you it can in no way be 'obvious'. Far less 'totally obvious'. THERE'S the derailment. Not Guilty, M'lud.

Admin comment:
I can wholeheartedly say that the entire staff team: Mods, Admins and Consultants agree with what whistlekiller2000 and rincew1nd earlier in the thread have said. Words are important as they influence people’s opinions and actions.
Being aware of language and it not being used in a sexist way (or language relating to any other protected characteristic) is the way it’s going to stay here. I wholeheartedly agree. I never use language in a 'sexist' way, and I don't intend to change my use of English to accommodate folks who erroneously try to claim otherwise.

There's a notion spreading rather too rapidly, even on this forum, and even among the moderators of it, that such pronouns as 'he' and 'his' specifically refer to the MALE of the species only.
Let me take this opportunity to remind people that, in conventional English, 'he'and 'his' refer to any person UNLESS or UNTIL you know differently.
Now, that's fine by me. I know that some folk think that this convention is unacceptable; that is also fine by me.
What ISN'T acceptable is the ever-more frequent interruption of the flow of discussion by people making their views on the matter known.
Perhaps a separate, sticky thread could be started to discuss grammatical preferences without derailing the ongoing discussion which is the heart of the Forum, and the reason why it exists.

I didn't know the Earth was a globe, until It was explained to me. Now it's totally obvious.

Somewhere on the 'big' railway, having a tube-type tunnel, and disused third-rail traction?
It MUST be Liverpool...but where?

Certain grades of friction material are prone to screeching. Buses often used these linings in the 'drum brake' days, and the sound was a familiar part of an adventure by bus.

I'm interested to know why someone would pretend not to understand the meaning of fleetline's perfectly ordinary and everyday contribution to a railway-related thread on a railway based forum. It's my guess that we have the grammatically self-obsessed equivalent of a vegan, who just 'has to let everyone know'. What a bore.

Must be a software mod as every other modern unit with DOO cameras have them active. Very strange way to work as there no way a driver can check his train despite him remaining in charge despite being dispatched. Can drivers not also be female or non-binary? I'm not sure about 'non-binary', but I can't remember there being any gender restriction on LU drivers.
