Stratford has island platforms that allow interchange between small Central line trains and large main line trains. The Tube platforms are almost level access but you almost need climbing gear to board the train on the other platform. Humps are fine where they stretch between the train and the platform wall. if it isn't possible to lower the track of TFL Rail/Crossrail/Elizabeth Line due to the subways world there eventually be a possibility of raising the central line track level and then increasing the height of the platform to suit both lines?

I could be wrong, but whoever designed that map may have gotten the step-free signs mixed up, because surely, the trains will be level with the platform at the brand new underground stations, and not level at the old NR stations.. Also, Heathrow Express trains are perfectly level with the platforms at the Heathrow stations. Presumably the Class 345s will be at the same level. That's the same conclusion I came to at first though it baffled me Think I need sleep. Also isn't it quite poor that such major stations such as Stratford and Ealing Broadway wont have total step free access as well as the other 26 stations on a £15 billion pound railway.

Map showing TFL incorrectly showing step free access, but more importantly why are stations such as Tottenham Court Road and Canary Wharf that are new builds planned only to have access from the platform to street only?

They might go for a variant like the S Stock, and call them T4, T6, T7, T8 Stock. T4 Because of the W&C. Quite sobering to think that on the whole system in a few years from now, there will only be 3 types of train: NTFL S Stock 2009 stock Zzzzzzzzxxxxxxxxx What about the 1995/6 stocks ?

Anyone know what this obstruction on the track is, is it possibly due to the works at Holland Park?
Thanks

Has there been any ATO modifications that have caused the trains to brake/accelerate more rapidly or cause the trains to coast more? That may have changed the noise of the trains.

Anyone know why the whole of the Piccadilly line is operating with severe delays and was suspended yesterday night between Acton Town - Uxbridge and between Cockfosters - Arnos Grove with severe delays due to a lack of drivers?

Sounds so much better and now finally they are trying to have all the announcements in the same style across all stocks.

I hope they choose a better livery. The current one must be among the worst in the UK Agreed its awful and looks scruffy even new, I hope they build more cars so that all if not most trains can run in 6 car formations rather than 3 as they are seriously overcrowded at times.

Never seems to happen on 92, 95, 96 or S stock though. Agreed considering the 92,95 + 96 are ATO you would think that they would try to open them quicker if possible to reduce dwell time particularly with the Jubilee Line planning to run 36tph. Hopefully the S stock will improve as more and more drivers get used to them and eventually when they go ATO.

Can Victoria Line drivers select the doors to open before the train stops. The doors always open extremely quickly whereas on other lines it can take up to about 5 seconds after the train has stopped before the doors are opened.
This is shown in the video:

Only example I've seen of this is here; the few units that received such treatment have since reverted back to the original recordings. Notice how the newer voice is the same (Celia Drummond) but adopts a deeper tone, as heard on the 1996 stock. All 1995 stock's 'please mind the gap between the train and the platform' message similarly adopts a deeper tone, suggesting it was recorded at a slightly later date (probably at the same time the '96 stock announcements were recorded) The Link doesn't work

Each stock has a different DVA and really it could all do with standardising. The Victoria line is the best announcing which side the doors open, any interchanges and where the trains are going straight away i.e. this is Stockwell, doors will open on the right hand side, change for the Northern line, this is a Victoria line train to Walthamstow.
S Stock does it differently with the station name and any interchange, the next station is and the destination ie this is Goldhawk Road, the next station is Shephards Bush Market, this is a Hammersmith and City Line Train to Barking.
The Jubilee is by far the worst as it takes ages to give the destination when at a station and when it does says it like: this train terminates at Stratford. As mentioned any adjustments since 1996 ish are botched and are given in a different voice. The Northern is just weird with the mainline and suburban rail services.

Which lines have forced ventilation (apart from S stock)? Central does 1992 - obviously Jubilee 1996 does Northern 1995 does Victoria 2009 does Does the Waterloo & City use the same system as the Central Line and is the Victoria Line system the most effective as its usually nice and cool. Personally I find the Jubilee and Northern can be quite hot even with the vents open.

You would think they would trial 100KPH running again considering the unavailability of stock as that would allow them to get trains from one end of the line to the other quicker to increase/maintain service frequencies and cut journey times?

What has caused the recent deterioration of the Central line trains? Seemingly over the last few weeks there has been a lack of available trains and service frequencies have suffered. What is the cause of this ? thanks Will

Was this the reason for the partial closure of the Met line from Chesham to Chalfont and Latimer today and tomorrow between 1100 and 1645? and if so LUL cannot be blamed for the fire

Are there issues with the signalling system as train 116 is switching between track codes TJ20481 ( Jubilee Line between Bermondsey and Canada Water) and TN10912 (Northern Line at Morden)

What has happened to the northern line this evening. There are 4 trains out of service on the southbound between Moorgate and Old Street even though the failure is northbound. Are they running trains south to run them north at Kennington or is the service that bad. and another train with the destination West Ham !!!

Although isn't the plan to have no Seven Sisters reversers during the peak? New internal email received today say the works at Walthamstow have finished early, ahead of schedule. The plan now is for WTT39 from 24 April, "34tph end to end service, peak service runs for circa 90 minutes". WTT40 from "Nov 2016, 36tph end to end service, peak service runs for circa 90 minutes." Why the sudden change in plan? Are there infrastructure issues that need to be addressed elsewhere before 36tph can run?
