Sorry my bad. Yes there were certain areas of track that have been lowered to allow for the installation of the overheads. I've been more interested in the OHLE installation & the 2 new bridges that have been replaced over the River Lea.

No trackwork took place & only, so I'm told, 1 signal moved slightly & a banner repeater added near Wanstead Park. "The infrastructure works have been heavily delayed since December and it is now unlikely that all the OLE work would have been completed by the reopening date, also there are still problems with passenger access to Blackhorse Road station and we are awaiting confirmation if this will be open to Overground Services when we begin running again." Once I've been briefed next Wednesday I'll see what I can pass on.

Don't forget the 2 bridges over the River Lea just past South Tottenham as well as, according to Network Rail, they started to be replaced from 26th November until 6th Jan 2017.

apparently class 378's can't be extended to 6 car anyway. The only option now is to increase the frequency. DC will be going to a 15 min service once all the class 710's have arrived then the class 378 will head upstairs to the NLL/WLL to increase their services.

perhaps when they extended the platforms for 4 car they really should have made it 5... Very poor short-sightedness.

Should be fun telling passengers to step up to the platform from the train as the track might be lower...

Apparently when the shut down happens in June the 2 old bridges that are left in the area near Ferry Lane are being replaced as well. Info from canalrivertrust.org.ukRailway Bridge (Bridge 23), Lee Navigation, Tottenham 5th Dec 2016 7:00am to 15th Jan 2017 7:00pm During the 2016/17 winter, Network Rail are planning to replace the railway bridge over the Lee Navigation in Tottenham (Bridge 23). This will see disruption to navigation and closure of the towpath.

How does this work? Let's say a freight operator on the NLL screws up thereby delaying the Overground. Arriva will then be fined for those no-fault delays. Will they need to recover the fine from the freight operator? Won't this end up becoming very litigious territory? This is a regular thing on the Overground already... It's a "Who can we blame to make a claim" culture...

The original connection was there for coal trains from the LSWR to run direct to Lillie Bridge The connection at Richmond was originally built in 1864 by the LSWR, several years long before the MDR existed. Lillie Bridge opened in 1872, and was accessible from the LSWR via the West London Line (either via Clapham Junction or via Uxbridge Road) The connection between the LSWR and MDR at Hammersmith was put in in 1877. It was used regularly for stock movements when 2EPBs worked the NLL. And it does seem a bit short sighted that NR now has a little 3rd rail island. If a 378 fails to switch over to ac there is no way to get it to a depot to fix it. AC - DC change over is carried out at Acton Central. So if at Acton Central it won't change over from DC to AC,heading towards Willesden, then it will more likely run empties back to Richmond for Bombardier to have a look & try & fix it.

Class 710 will only be used on Watford to Euston (DC) Gospel Oak to Barking (Gob) Liverpool St to Chingford etc
Doubt if they will have guards panels.. No ELL running. & this does not apply to Kensal Green tunnel.
