How long does it take to re-stow the detraining steps? I cannot say for sure how long it takes to put the front steps back but this is an action for Bombardier techs only.

Freight companies don't like giving up paths cos they may never get them back.

On the theme of 20 min headway late evening services that will apparently be the case when the GOBLIN reopens in mid January 2018. Currently services step down to half hourly after about 2200 but will be approximately x20 henceforth. Opentraintimes shows departures varying between every 18-20 mins for some reason. 18/20 mins are probably down to pathing issues.

You could give passengers all the space & doors you want but they are set in there ways & will only use the same door they have done for years.. No matter how much we tell them to move ;-)

If the Gob is not ready then they will probably use the DC as a training ground.

Oh & also Signal UH 1062 located at the South Tottenham end of the Down platform at Upper Holloway will be relocated to its former location 8 metres (8.75 yards) towards Crouch Hill. What's wrong with its current location? Some time ago they moved it 8 meters towards Gospel Oak to allow for the bridge works to be carried out. Now it's all done they're moving it back.

As far as I am aware there are no staff trained to dispatch trains on the Gob line.

Here's a thought on the 315's, & please don't shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong, Install temp mirrors on the platform & only train up, if numbers exist, the drivers that used to drive the 313's.. At this rate, I think that TfL has already made up their mind that nothing will happen until the 710's turn up.

Snoggle.. Your welcome. In answer to a few of your questions.. 2. Platform extensions can always be sorted at a later date provided that they do not interfere with current operations so there's no rush for most of them & you would assume that Woodgrange Park will be finished by 27th as these gateline buildings are definitely in the way of safe operations. 3. The word going around is that they started to drill into the viaduct to put in the brackets for the masts but the brickwork just crumbled so they had to cut out sections ad install concrete bases, as seen on the videos. 5. Bridges east of Leytonstone were replaced a few years ago & the speed restriction in place near Wanstead Park is due, from what I could see, the wooden bases being replaced. All the speed restrictions on the route are only temporary so I was told & will be gone soon. 6. Apparently, there is talk about raising the speeds on the whole line as we are all desperate to see the 20 over the River Lea go. 7. there is indeed a shorter walking section from the ticket hall to the the main steps/footbridge. 8. Blackhorse Rd is an odd one with all that space there could have easily widen the platform but no doubt it was down to cost.

We can operate a 10 car but in emergency situations only as most of our platforms on the NLL are only 5 car in length. Also behind the front door are the steps & they are a bit tricky to remove out of the way so passengers can be transferred from one train to another.

Network Rail have tweeted some photos from the GOBLIN driver training runs this weekend. It's clear in the photos that platforms at S Tottenham have been extended eastwards and that Wanstead Park has got new platform shelters and a much longer resurfaced platform area for longer trains. A number of the other photos are of tracks near S Tottenham, at Barking, Gospel Oak and east of Blackhorse Rd (slab track) plus Queens Rd station. Wasn't the best start to driver training on Saturday as the 1st unit failed whilst carrying out validation testing then we had a few signaling issues & a few speed restrictions to contend with. I'm in the process of sorting out the video I took & will post this afternoon.

I thought the middle 'panel' in the front cab end of a 378 was a door? Same as in LUL surface stock? My personal opinion on the liveries is that it would have made sense for TfL to apply the general arrangement of the established tube livery on all of its fleets, LUL, DLR, Overground, Crossrail, with the red being substituted with the modes' house colour. Its good to see this happening with the Overground fleet (even if that ridiculous tapered bit of white is an obvious aesthetic mistake and will rapidly become a dirt magnet), but Crossrail not matching is a missed opportunity. Ben you are correct it is a door. But for emergency/staff use only

Dalston Kingsland, like a lot of the Overground stations, is narrow & probably only just meets minimum width requirements & in the (C)rush hours it really struggles so having an extra train load evacuating on to the platform doesn't help.

Latest news from the driving/training front, but not set in stone. Currently carrying out a 2 day refresher course. Day 1 in the classroom & day 2 driving on the line. A few day 1's have been done & will continue. Day 2's will, fingers crossed, start up again on Saturday with a couple of safety runs then a few instructors to be retrained for them to continue on track training. Penciled in dates for ongoing training to start from 18th Feb onwards. But as always nothing is set in stone. As mentioned before I'll try & get some video footage when I'm out there Sat & Sun.

All training trains have been temporarily canceled for this weekend due to signaling problem. Seems like driver training will only happen at weekends for the time being anyway.
