So is that train 177 from Upminster depot at 8.07 deemed as the first S stock in service from Upminster?

Train 177? is that part of the normal district line working or is it from a special trains notice?

Now, this is a bit on the pointless side this thread, but last week, whilst in town with some friends we happen to notice that the auto-announcer has two different ways of pronouncing "Warren Street" On the approach to the stop she announces "War-ren Street" (with the emphasis on war as though it was a separate word) whilst on arrival we get the proper "Warren Street" Now, does this auto-announcer actually use proper made up sentences rather than a series of words strung together by a computer i.e. "The next station is" [insert variable] rather than "The next station is Warren Street?" Anyway, it was something we noticed and started talking about on the way back to the hotel, so any ideas on the different pronunciation anybody? you think that's bad who remembers the first auto-announcer on the C stock back in 1998? very erratic sounding that was!

This goes back to a timetable 15 or so years ago when 2 C stocks were to travel in passenger service and stable at Upminster. Lasted about two weeks because the stock was too wide and hit the platforms under certain conditions. yes I remember that very well!
it was working timetable number 5 from 29 May 1994 2 C stocks which were both outer rail circles
I remember coming down to Elm Park station to see them and ride them to Upminster and then seeing them come up as Not In Service
Les Calverley told me that it was he himself who put a stop to the 2 C stocks running in service as he was worried about drivers having to use the CSDE override switch

I think that the term UTO "Unattended train operation" is the currently used term, but I will admit, NOPO does sound better. UTO?
isn't that a pop group?

im surprised that no one has yet coined an acronym to describe trains without a driver or anyone on board
well I have
you've heard of OPO for "one person operation" - so what about NOPO "no person operation"
remember where you heard it first people!

so far we have had all the likes about 1992 tube stock, now for the reason why they are disliked by me........................
its the seat bays, which have been pushed forward from the car body, making the cars feel more claustrophobic then any other underground train in history.

so to put it another way does it mean that LU forgot about the railtour and they thought that they could run the last C stock up to 1 O'clock today then they realised about the railtour and so they had to cut it short at 9 o'clock?
not that im gonna moan about it - just be thankful that I have built up quite a good collection of C stock photo some of them in very unusual places
also whats going to happen now with the S stock on the District main line - how long before the first run in service from Upminster?

I have heard that the 92 stock is having DMI,s retro fitted as part of their upgrade in the near future. perhaps they will also think to push the seats back into the car body

seems like only yesterday that I took my first ever ride on a 1992 stock train in the easter holiday of 1993 from Stratford - Bethnal Green

since this April railtour is going to be the most prolific railtour ever done in recent years I would like to make a full length video of it, but of course I will be on the train, so im making a request for anyone who would be willing to video the train at certain key locations such as, Rayners Lane westbound Hornchurch westbound Stamford brook eastbound Upminster elm park eastbound (from the bridge opposite the station) elm park westbound platform preston road westbound - and Becontree too at the moment I am only considering for this being a youtube video, whether it could be considered being done as a DVD I don't know, but with my skilful editing I could put together a decent video of the event rather than just 2 minute clips on youtube I haven't really had much of an enthusiastic response to this and there's only a week to go
now I know that there are some video makers who wouldn't mind if I downloaded their video of youtube and used it in mine, but im not like that.
I would like to know who wouldn't mind having their video clips put into 1 big video and whether or not you are willing to copy your original material onto a DVD for me to work from. Again I could just download the video off youtube, but often the resolution is so low (240/360) - oh and talking of which, no camera phones yes I know they are getting better, but phones are still not up to the quality of proper video cameras yet.
