I can do some of the insets: Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, and the gasometer at St. Pancras (station behind). I think the canal bridge one with the decorative ironwork is on the Kennet & Avon in/near Bath...

We have a winner, the description I have says: Debden - bottom of footbridge on eastbound platform [Chris M] Just a couple more to identify now, the link and the odd one out.

All of the stations are on the northernmost ends of their lines, and station C isn't, being the odd one out? I know station C isn't on the north because it isn't H&W and no other LO stations have NR up north, other than Watford Junction, which I'm also sure it's not.

Lets try Anerley for C and the odd one out Amersham, being the end of the line, the others are third from the end of the line

None of the above match the answers I have. You'll almost certainly need "C" to work out the odd one out, and you'd need to picture the layouts....

Just a guess, do the stations have an entrance on each platform, i.e from different directions rather than one entrance... i know this of woodside park, but havent been to the other locations in a long while....?

does the footbridge over the station connect both sides of the station and each platform, or am i deriving from my first guess?

That narrows it down - I think it's a southbound platform - (the "National Rail" glimpsed at the top is not an interchange but the service at the station. The interchange symbol could be for NR and Tramlink (i.e. West Croydon)
Is it Sydenham?
Inset D - those are pretty hefty lock gates - is it on the Manchester Ship Canal?

It has to be forest hill, as that station too has an entrance to each platform from different sides

Station C is Forest Hill, specifically the northbound platform. (click for a larger version) Inset D is further afield than Manchester. The link answer isn't about multiple entrances.
