Maybe one for the archive people here, but I'm trying to source an electronic copy, no matter how low quality, of a tube map from 1979-89 that includes the proposed Jubilee/Fleet line stage 2. As many will know the map was redesigned with the circle becoming far more bloated in preparation for the inclusion of this second stage as and when it happened.
I'm curious as to whether there was ever a 'proof of concept' drawn; I'm fairly certain given the redesign and the nature of draughtsmens inquisitiveness that there was at some point!
Many thanks!

There is a sketch designed by Paul Garbutt (his own hand) in the TfL archives, but which I didn't scan at the time when I found it. When I next go back there I will get a copy and implement it. Its in a file that only turned up after I finished my book.

Is it wrong that that excites me? Not at all; I'd be in the same boat if I saw transit times for unbuilt extensiions - I know quite a lot were produced for the Northern Heights. ;D ;D - which I have seen part of ages ago.

Is it wrong that that excites me? Don't think so - I would be excited to see it too! I remember seeing a map in the late 80s/early 90s which had all the proposed extensions and new lines shown - Watford Junction (Met), Crossrail, Chelney/Kings line, Jubilee line extension and so on. This was before it became more common to produce provisional and temporary maps or extracts - today almost every service alteration poster includes an explanatory map with amendments, making them less rare and exciting to see. Historical maps still grab my interest though!

Max, when you say 'implement' it, do you mean to digitalize it using a vector program, or scan a copy warts-n-all? Or both! Merely curious

Does what I see at Turnham Green suggest that in 2025 Piccies will be stopping there all day, all the time?

Does what I see at Turnham Green suggest that in 2025 Piccies will be stopping there all day, all the time? Wouldn't take that as read to be honest, a lot of the proposed lines have already been scrapped since that map was made, Cross River Tram for example. Just thought it might be of some interest.
