Now forgive me if this has already been covered somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere:
1) As you come into PB on the WB, there are two little 'thingys' attached to the offside running rail - they also appear further down the platform. I have recently noticed that they have a flashing red light, so, what are they?
2) at the same station, same direction, I noticed last night that, on the mark, my MA indicator lights went out, but I can't see a rail gap. I never noticed this before, probably because in checking the DCV I always go for the big blue and not the small green, but on the car last night, it was a very bright number and kinda made you look at it, which in turn, made me notice the lack of MA lights.
When I first noticed the lack of MA's, my initial thought was 'oh, no', but on winding up, the ma's came back and the train behaved normally.
Is this a case of me just not noticing before and it happens all the time, or is there a reason for this?
Set was 5702.
Thanks, and if there is a topic on this Colin, I would be obliged for some direction.

1/ Guess is that they are the rail greasers.
2/ Yes, i noticed this on a D Stock yesterday. Low current rail just at the point the train stops. Not sure if +tive or -tive.

They have been covered before - but there's no harm in covering them again (saves me finding the old threads ;D ;D)... 1) As you come into PB on the WB, there are two little 'thingys' attached to the offside running rail - they also appear further down the platform. They are indeed rail greasers. 2) at the same station, same direction, I noticed last night that, on the mark, my MA indicator lights went out, but I can't see a rail gap. As mentioned, low current rails - same thing used to happen to the leading unit of a C stock (once you've changed ends) in platform 4 at High Street, though I dunno if that still happens as I haven't driven a C stock for over a year and a half now. It also briefly occurs a couple of times on the westbound/down road between Gunnersbury & Kew Gardens - you can clearly see it's the neggy causing that those.
