With the Mainline service cut back to Baker Street, a signal failure in the Wembley Park area saw the todays service decend into a nightmare.
At least it gave me the chance to 'do' the local to fast crossover at Watford S. Junction!

Well what do you know, I've had a really really quiet week, and then on the one day I'm not there... ;D
The crossovers at Watford South have actually been used quite regularly just lately. The evening peak northbound Met service on Friday 2nd January was a classic example. Chiltern were operating a normal Monday to Friday peak, whilst we were running a Saturday service. Numerous Amershams were routed "fast via the local" to Moor Park to keep out of the way of the Chilterns.

The train I was on was all shacks Baker Street - Amersham.
Apparently it was suspended last night as well, due to trespassers.

Was waiting on a friend at UXB when a voice came over the tannoy announcing tresspassers at Harrow. Must have been no trains for about 40mins? Wonder if they got them.

Staff illness? Doesn't sound good.

Staff illness? Doesn't sound good. Service Operator taken ill. They were going to send the Rayners Lane one to Harrow, but found another member of staff. Edited by Colin: for those who don't know, the grade of Service Operator is more commonly known as a Signaller.

Yes indeed!! I wonder if i will make OTM!!! lol Don't bank on it. First off you're in Service Control. Secondly you only helped get the service running - it's not as if you helped anyone up an escalator or something. Third, even in my short time where I am now, I have had 2 events where things would not have gone as they did without my significant help - did they appear / were you (as a Met Signaller) even aware? Exactly ;D

What about a dedicated white board at Baker Street. A photo and your mobile number on display as a dedication and a way of all those happy Amersham/ Uxbridge/ Watford customers who managed to get home to say a little Thank you. Just ask and it'll be arranged.
Then pop into the Treats shop at Baker Street and help yourself to a fivers worth of food poisoning food.
Lastly a little plaque will be displayed in the third cubicle of the gents public toilet showing your dedication to the line. We'll obviously remove your mobile number from that dedication - for obvious reasons.

I'm surprised no ones mentioned Monday, lol, must of been the worst second half of the day for a long-time. Why, what happened? North Harrow starter and JB72 failed from 1300, lasted all day. Neasden points failure, 1600 till 1800. Baker street signals, from 1700 I think. Plus probably more, thats just the late turn. I was in the canteen for most of the shift.

Yeah, I saw JB72 being worked on yesterday afternoon! It controls the local up line onto Harrow North Junction.
It was so bad, when I went for the train at Baker Street there was just Uxbridge 8 mins and Uxbridge 14 mins! We got the Bakerloo instead!

No he came back for more ;D
Strangely, (with the exception of this morning - when I wasn't on either ;D) the work certainly seems to have favoured the late shift. Normally late shifts are the better shifts, with most of it kicking off on the early turn.
If it hits the early turn tomorrow, I won't be as smug ;D
