Do the 4-car EFE boxsets come with couplings, or must you ad them seperately? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, I don't have any. The bogies do have little hooks in the bogies so a bar can be inserted.

EFE box sets come with a short coupling bar or a long coupling bar per car. Long bars are used for smaller radii curves, the short bars will negotiate medium radius points without any problems.
We're going to modify ours to allow uncoupling on the fly, probably by gently modifying BEMO style couplings

You can also use the long bars to couple two units together, but you have to remove something from under the front of the train.

...or just use a bend paper clip like I do. I fact, I'm going to prepare a little master class on couplings, and how to join units together. Watch this space.....

To couple between driving car front ends I adapted a long EFE coupling by cutting it in two and shortening it to a length approx. halfway between the length of the long and short one. This effectively makes it a 'Middle' coupling. When I can fish the coach out of the box I'll post the measurements.
Update; I found the vehicle in question but the coupling I modified was to couple a middle DM to an NDM of the adjacent set in a seven car formation. For this purpose the distance between the centre of the holes in the coupling bar should be approx. 19.5mm. For coupling a DM to another DM the long coupling in with the EFE car should be about right although I haven't tried it. The dummy wedgelock coupling is a simple clip fit and can be eased out with no trouble. The next challenge in this particular set of mine is to figure out matching the EFE shade of red on the Radley models 1927 trailer for the set (58 trailer) and then sorting out couplings for that too! Wish me luck as I seem to love making my life difficult!
