Which I believe is going to be the same as last week-end's... so I think I'll be going to Putney (from Bayswater) on the bus... Last Saturday was, frankly, chaotic - I had expected someone else to mention it, which is why I haven't posted till now... Previously with (what I assume are) the King's X works, Circles have reversed at Baker St, and the Edgware Rd to Wimbledon service was pretty much unaffected. Not so last week-end and next. Huge service gaps, chaos at High St, and it's only by the grace of God there isn't a bad accident on the narrow staircase to Platform 4 there... and all this without a Chelsea home game. Go on, tell me you've got it all sorted for this week-end and it'll be right as rain

Due to Track and Point work at Baker Street. The Circles are reversing via the main line at Edgware Road, the Hammersmith in the platform, with the Districts going round at High St. So all in all, best stay at home

Innocentabroad,
You could have avoided the chaos at High Street Ken, by remaining on the Inner Rail Circle to South Kensington, walk across the platform to a Westbound District to Putney.
No stairs to climb !

No stairs to climb ! Well, yes, or I could've changed at Gloucester Road (as I sometimes do anyway) - it's not the stairs I mind as stairs, it was the overcrowding and the narrowness of the (sole) access to Platform 4 at HSK, coupled with the inaccurate announcements there that the service was suspended "between Edgware Road and Wimbledon" - anyway, I've got the lurgy now so may not be going anywhere much for a bit I suppose there has to be an engineers' possession of Baker Street Junction at some time or other, to be fair.

All the announcemaents I heard that weekend stated the District was suspended between High St. Ken and ERD, but its possible that I missed a couple of stations on my travels.

I suspect that most Wimbleware passengers ended up using the stairs.

Very true, The1KEA - I'd forgotten that, and I've even been known to travel in the very front of an eastbound "shuttle" for that very reason. Still, I think I'll take the bus just for now...
