These have been appearing in increasing numbers on the westbound/bay platform at Putney Bridge. I have no idea what they're covering - anyone here know? This is not a Quiz - like I say I have no idea myself, i'm just wondering if anyone here can satisfy my curiosity

I'm not sure, i think that they may be covering up new lighing points, etc as before the boxes appeared there were alot of markings on the concrete tiles for new roundel posts, CCTV, and a couple of other abbriviations i didn't understand.
That is my guess, lol.

Yeah, that would make sense. They do seem to be trying to improve the overall lighting at a lot of the outside stations at the moment, with both Plaistow and Turnham Green having been done quite recently. Having said that, I can't remember seeing boxes like that at those locations when they were adding extra lighting! They simply had holes in the ground with covers over them, so the mystery may remain for now! ;D

Have these boxes been uncovered yet? If so, what was in them? I’m guessing that they are probably new flowerbeds to sparkle up the stations appearance now that the (Great British ) Summer is arriving, but they could easily be any of the other items mentioned above. (I hope they contain Easter Eggs ;D)

Ah yes, I got a piccy the other day but hadn't got round to uploading it. I'm a little surprised at the length of the bolts protruding up from the base plates though. Here we go:

Looks like there are nuts underneath the baseplate to set the level (and verticality) of the pole. I wouldn't be surprised if they now cut the remainding bolt off and put a boot around the whole assembly. Would certainly look neater!

That seems likely, they will probably put some grout under the baseplate.
