I was passing eastbound between Eailing Common and Acton Town on a train this afternoon and I managed to notice an aluminium bodyshelled 72MkITS with a full painted red front stabled on one of the roads between 21-24 in Eailing Common Depot. Can anyone confirm what it's doing in EC Depot? Is it the 72MkITS which is being converted into the new TRT from up the road at Northfields depot?
Cheers for any replies.

Another oddity - anyone know why there's a red 3 car unit of 60TS stabled at Northfields? I believe it is this example belonging to CHTL. The fact it is stabled on the same road as the 72MkI made me think it might have something to do with the TRT conversion?

It is the CHT unit, it has gone to Northfields for some TLC from the fitters there.

I'd sincerely hope the CHTL 60TS does not go in for TRT conversion... unique specimen of a 60TS that hasn't been torn apart for other uses.
It is the Aldwych unit, you can tell with the unique red front on the unit whilst the rest is alluminium, painted this way for use in the film "Creep" it appears in both alluminium and red in some computer generated scenes. It also appears to have the interior of a 96TS with the sounds of a 95TS at one point, confusing if you are clued up on what is what! If anyone is interesting I can post some screenshots of it in the film. Particularly strange to see it going Eastbound from Charing Cross Jubbly.

Aye, I know, can't see CHTL ever doing that. Charter TRT anyone?

Nope, thats purely coinsidental that its been parker there, probably because they dont want to take up 1/2 the depot with heritage thrash! ;D Aye, I know, can't see CHTL ever doing that. Charter TRT anyone? What they may do though is take some equipment from the existing TRT when it is scrapped, as there are some original doors / windows that they could use, along with some very nice ATP equipment and Connect Radio stuff

It would be nice if the two DM's of the 1960ts TRT were kept, one restored to it's origanal 1960 state and the other used for spares.

What ever happened to the origional trailer for the 1960 TRT? As in the 1938ts trailer it had when withdrawn from passenger service?
