The last one from us this year, and The Great Christmas Quiz takes over from tomorrow. A single part question to close out on, with three insets, numbered 1, 2 and 3 from left to right. *Click for a larger version* I will return tomorrow morning to post the answers.

Before the Christmas team take over, a quick chance to post the results from yesterday. You have the main location and one of the insets, the other two will remain running to answer at any time, and we'll let you know as soon as possible. Main picture: Earl's Court - Lift from eastbound DR platforms to high-level walkway Inset 1: Liverpool Street - pillar at south end of inner rail platform. Inset 2: Remains unanswered. Inset 3: Remains unanswered. *Click any of the images for a larger version*

Don't usually resort to Google until everyone has had a fair go based on their own knowledge, but it now turns out the gentleman in the portrait belongs (or belonged) to Dollis Hill.

Inset 2 looks like part of the badge of Essex Cricket Club, so either a station in Essex or one with cricketing connections? I'll plump for Oval.

Right, that concludes 2008 from the regular quiz team, as you can see we are now on the other side, and as stumped as everyone else with the Christmas quiz!
Thanks for the support over 2008, have a great Christmas and New Year, and we'll see you again on January 1st 2009. I hope you enjoyed the challenges, and I hope Chris can keep me supplied with equally challenging stuff for the new year. Don't forget, you can have an input, pictures and suggestions are always welcome.
See you next year!

I'd like to echo what SE13 has said - and also to thank him for all the hard work he has put in through the year. I enjoy setting the questions and seeing how you fare, but I'm glad that I don't have to put in the hard work to bring it to you every day!
Pictures, ideas, suggestions and comments are always welcome - comment on the daily thread, the sticky thread or by pm or email to myself or SE13 whichever you prefer.

I'll add to the thanks - thankyou to ChrisM and SE13 for their daily quiz-setting - though I'm not able to add much often, it's fun when I do drop in!
