B = Aldgate? D = All Saints
I'd say C is somewhere on the North London Line.

B def. Aldgate 2/3 - you can see the reflection of OB20 (on platform 1) on the rearmost car.

C - Acton Central NLL (southbound platform)
D - All Saints DLR (lift to southbound platform)

A - Alperton B - Aldgate C - Acton Central D - All Saints
I'd guess the other two are Angel and Aldgate East, being the first stations alphabetically that begin with 'A' on their respective lines.

Why do the carriage numbers have to be covered in the photo? Those trains are obviously A stock, and knowing the number of a train that you already know is on the Met, can't help you find out what station it is at! B is Aldgate D is All Saints (because there seems to be a lot of space behind the other platform, where the sidings are)

You'd be surprised at how many people wouldn't immediately see that picture as 'A' stock; and anyhow it could date from when the ELL was open. As with all good quizzes - and this one is excellent - you've gotta put in a few red herrings!! ;D

I don't actually set the questions, merely post them. From a personal point of view, I wouldn't know they were A Stock. I struggle enough telling A, C and D apart as it is, let alone a picture from above! Perhaps there is an underlying reason, who knows. But as a rule, Chris will obfuscate anything traceable to the actual location, which generally includes signs, platform numbers, and often valuable clues on the trains themselves (indeed often disguising them as well)
Anyhow, back to the quiz......

I think I might have worked out why. Could it be that the unit in the photo is not a 'double ended' one, so you would know it couldn't be an ELL station if you knew its number?

The four locations have been identified, but not the next ones in the sequence. Station A: Alperton - eastbound platform from street [Chris M] Station B: Aldgate - A stock trains [Chris M] Station C: Acton Central - entrance on westbound platform [Chris M] Station D: All Saints - top of stairs to southbound platform [Chris M] *Click any image for a larger version* So, just the next ones in sequence to find......

Perhaps I should clarify that the link between the photos that Cetacean proposed is close but not correct, which is why his guesses for the next two in the sequence aren't right.

Let's try Archway and Arnos Grove, north? Acton Central and Alperton in the west, Aldgate and All Saints in the east

Beacontree, Debden?
Because they're all first alphabetically in their zone?

regarding the train numbers. I obscured them partly to make the stock ID a bit more difficult and therefore also make it slightly less easy to get the station. Also I figured that doing so would perhaps lead you to think they were somehow significant to the answer.
