I have seen the completed station building in Gough Square (since demolished) but were any other works ever even started for this project let alone completed?

This is news to me. What form would this branch have taken? Would it have been a one-off spur from the main Central line - sort of like the old Aldwych spur on the Piccadilly?

I, too, have never heard of this.

Is this something to do with one of the Central's early plans to build a loop from Bank back to Shepard's Bush south of the existing line?

Just checking out The Central Line J Graeme Bruce and Desmond F Croome, is it possible that the Station at Grough Sq could have been the Law Courts shown on the proposed loop 1902?

Nothing to do with the 1902 loop. Law Courts station would have been at Norfolk Street (built over in the 1970s, but parallel to and between Surrey St and Arundel St), and the next station to the east was to have been at Ludgate Circus, under the main line station. I've never heard of this plan before, and I've done a lot of research into this area. Could more details be provided?
