This is a photo of one of the oddest buses ever built..why on earth they chose a Thames Trader truck chassis I have no idea, though Thames did provide chassis for coaches. I include this here as they are tunnel buses! www.countrybus.org.uk/TT/TT.htm

Could they have used these elsewhere on LT's bus network, albeit configured as "regular" buses?

They were definitely the Dartford Tunnel buses for cycles. They were based at Dartford (DT) Country Bus garage, although I have a feeling they weren't actually LT's?

Both the last two posts are covered in the link provided by Oracle;
They were indeed operated by Dartford garage, but owned by the 'Dartford Tunnel joint committee'; and: "TT4 was reported bought for preservation by Leon Daniels, but I don't know what became of it".

These were Langley-built chassis, but they were 16' 4" tall? That's very route-restrictive. However they clearly got to Dartford somehow without crashing into bridges!
