Reading through NOC reports for last week, looks like one of the District train technicians was very lucky on Saturday night,a train was put in bay road at Mansion House for arcing and sparking.Technician had a look at it,gave it the O.K. to run back to Ealing Common, when they got it in the depot they found a seized axle!!!

Ahh, that's interesting.
I wondered what was going on. It was somewhere just behind my train fortunately.
I could hear it being called up on the radio ...they obviously knew it had problems but the controller was being rather evasive (or discreet) on the radio whilst the driver was enquiring why he was being put to Mansion House. He must have then thought to ask what the problem was and was told to call them on a land line, after a further call he was told a fitter was being sent to him. Then the following Circle Line train called up and reported some problem which was responded, that they were aware and the preceding train was going into Mansion House.
I was itching to know what was actually happening (and to get past Tower Hill in case they decided to hold me to cover a gap !)
