Why doesn't the Olympia shuttle run on a Sunday?
Lack of demand?
Also, what are the normal longest waiting times while waiting for a Wimbledon train at Edgware Road?

There is something like a 17 minute gap at Edgware Road for a District. This is in the Mon-Fri eving, when the early stablers return to Hammersmith. However at the moment due to the Acton Town T/Op dispute there is one ERD-WM cancelled all day and one the stables early in the evening causing a 27 min gap. I think the Olympia service does run on Sundays nowadays, though in the M-F peak it is half hourly (or less to cover a gap on the branches). It also finishes early, something to do with Green Line Drivers needing their horlicks

The basic service to Olympia runs from 0700 til midnight (0800 on Sundays) with a basic 15 minutely service. During the peaks (mon to Fri) it runs at roughly 17 min intervals. An Olympia train is sometimes diverted to cover a gap in the main service (for a Richmond and back for example) but the other Olympia train will be left to run the service at half frequency until its counterpart gets back, so generally 2 Olympia high st runs will get cancelled through this diversion.

www.trainweb.org/tubeprune/dictionary.htmReverser (1) - The traction control system device provided on a train to allow it to be driven backwards. Usually only used in depots or under very rare emergency conditions.
Reverser (2) - The name given to a train trip where the train turns back short of the end of the line as in "That train is a Colindale reverser".

The Olympia shuttle is prone to cancellations, it's true that workings on the High Street-Olympia service are often cancelled so gaps in the Ealing and Richmond services can be covered. One problem though, there have been occasions when cancellations have arisen to all three main branches at the same time, then the public suffers I'm afraid.

they have often use the trains on the olympia branch as back-up aswell if a train on the main develops a fault sometimes they will reform (swap) the train on the olympia shuttle and then send that to ealing common or upminster

Unless he's given up giving up (like me!) No - I confirm I remain a nicotine free zone (well - apart from the patches, and I've only got a week of those now!). So far (fingers crossed) all goes well; even trips to the pub and company of smokers has not caused me to weaken. So - my visits to Oly this evening were entirely in the cause of completing the necessary trips for my current trainee!
