A single part question again today with a couple of bonus points up for grabs. One of the points is within the picture, the second for working out why this location was chosen for today. *Click for a larger version*

The main picture is Hampstead Heath NLL, no idea about anything else though.

Looks like something out of Doctor Who? Sadly I can't say where it is!

Is that the view from the Star Trek? Because one of the former actors is going to be in Celebrity Get Me Out Of The Jungle, or something like that?

Definitely Hampstead Heath.
Is the bonus point for the background or the station?

There are bonus points for identifying the inset, and for correctly working out why I chose this station for today.
You can try and id the background as well if you want, I'll accept very non-specific answers for this.

Hmmm... *reads Hertzsprung-Russell diagram*; the star underneath the LH set of steps is towards the yellow end of the main sequence - so tau Ceti, alpha Centauri B and epsilon Eridani are amongst the possibilites.
Hmmm...... Thinks.

The main picture has been correctly identified, along with the background in a manner of speaking! The inset remains unanswered. Hampstead Heath [Chris M] The background was NGC 188 (an open cluster in the constellation Cepheus), public domain image from Wikimedia Commons - commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:NGC_188.jpgInset: *Click either image for a larger version*
