Top drivers on the District today ;D
Anyone from here driving 057 to Ealing Broadway?
'' For passengers wishing to go to Heathrow Airport, please change here to the Piccadilly Line. Do not pass go, and do not collect £200!'' ;D
And, on train 075 to Wimbledon, there was a particuarly cheery driver ''Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen!'', every time he came on the PA.

Ok - obviously no one was driving them from here What are some of the best announcements that you've heard over the PA? (Maybe this should go in quizzes / surveys?)

What are some of the best announcements that you've heard over the PA? The best one I've heard is "This is a District Line Train to Upminster, and I would like to welcome aboard District Dave's Train Spotting group" ;D ;D ;D As announced by a T/op on the way home from our very first pub meet.

Reminds me of one announcement, when i went to Wimbledon: "This, is a District Line Train, taking the scenic route to Upminster"
Strangely, the scenic route part wore off shortly after leaving Barking. On that occasion, the train number was 033

Reminds me of one announcement, when i went to Wimbledon: "This, is a District Line Train, taking the scenic route to Upminster" Strangely, the scenic route part wore off shortly after leaving Barking. On that occasion, the train number was 033 Yes, a rather strange chap. I remember sitting in the leading car of a D stock at Richmond on that very sombre Friday morning of July 8, the unusual silence being broken by the cheerful whistling of the T/Op changing ends. He gets himself comfortable in the cab and announces 'This is a District Line Train taking the scenic route to Upminster' This he repeated at nearly all station stops. At the time I thought this jocular behavior was intended to put everyone at ease.
