On another forum, I've attempted to explain where I think Wheeler Street Junction was; here as the connection between the ELL and the Great Eastern at Shoreditch. Has anyone else heard this name used?

Some members of another forum have now agreed that Wheler St. Jct. (note spelling) was the name given to a set of crossovers just outside Liverpool St. station and controlled by the 1949 panel signalbox. The name did not exist before 1949 and there was never a signalbox of this name.
It thus remains a total mystery as to why there was (still is?) a block bell tapper in Whitechapel signalbox labelled "Wheler St."
Any ideas please?
Martin Keall.

The bell tapper in Whitechapel District signalbox was labelled Liverpool Street ER. And there, an imaginary hare ceased to run. ;D

No Idea where it comes from either, but the Bishopsgate station area is known by NR Maintenance crews as Wheeler Street... We took a rail mounted drain jetting unit down into the bowels of the old station a few years back and it caused a few head scratching moments when trying to find the access point!
