I just heard on u.t.l. that Gunnersbury is to be closed for nine days to allow NR to relay Gunnersbury Junction.
Does anyone know the scope of the works (i.e. will they relay the chord to Acton Lane, will they relay in the station, will they increase/decrease the curvature, etc)?

Reading a poster placed at the bottom of the stairs at Gunnersbury, it says that due to engineering works there will be no services on NR or DR 1 April to 9 April, replacement bus services will be available but fuller details will be published nearer the time. I'm hoping that they also re-lay the bit right up to the LU boundary, as this has been in a shocking state recently. After several floods down there the wooden sleepers were saturated and started to split- so replacement with concrete would seem (!?) logical.

Well, the new metal wiring posts would seem to be a good precursor to relaying the track and unburying the S&T cabling - is that what the posts are for?
If it's not that, then maybe it has something to do with all of the new concrete footers and cable postings being installed next to the down line between Gunnersbury and Manor Road bridge.
