Something I've noticed has started on the W&C at Bank over the last couple of weeks...
There now seems to be a member of station staff dispatching trains in the evening peak (using a bat). Unlike many other lines though, the staff member uses a megaphone to give the 'move down inside the cars' and 'this train is about to depart' announcements, instead of tapping into the local speakers on the platform.
Is this simply because Bank W&C is not set up to allow this?
Is there anywhere else on the underground where staff regularly use megaphones to make announcements?
They do seem rather ineffective, as you can't really hear them above the general platform noise.
