There seems to be something affecting the Central and District lines this evening.

There seems to be something affecting the Central and District lines this evening. Any ideas? Loss of power from the National Grid DNO ASUI. Power to LU was then routed to other LU Bulk Supply Points |

The incident you are describing, I think, also took out the:
Northern
Jubilee
Piccadilly
Hammersmith & City
Circle
District
I think the incident you are referring to is the big experimental switch off! Basically, LU wanted to do a total shutdown of electricity, and reboot it to see what would happen! As you can see, the results were fairly disastrous, some might say exciting, but for us normal passengers...

As you can see, the results were fairly disastrous, some might say exciting, but for us normal passengers... You're thinking of Bismark. The annual event where electricity is cut off and turned on again to LUL, to see what the affects are. This is done during engineering hours on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. |
