It's probably been mentioned on a post that I can't find but, just in case it hasn't, In what year did CO/CP stock start working on the District? I have a horrible feeling that it may be too late for me get away with modelling a set! If so then R stock it is! Thanks.

CP stock began to work the District from about 1962. It was transfered from the Metropolitan Line as P stock and went via the Acton works to become converted to CP stock. CO stock arrived on the District in 1970 when the C69 stock pushed it of the Circle and Hammersmith services.
P stock however, did operate in 6 car trains from 1939 occasionally. It was rare but it did operate. What period are you doing?
In theory, you can run H stock (-1953), F stock (-1950), Q stock (1939-1971), R stock (1949-) CP stock (1962-)!

Thanks guys. I just needed to know as, should I ever actually be granted permission from the boss (wife) to build a layout to do shows with, I didn't want you lot telling me I'd got it wrong AFTER I'd spent a fortune on what I thought was the correct stock!
