Does any one have photos of the old Leyton BR/LT signal cabin interior. Also Loughton cabin.
Spent a few horrible hours testing out the manual frame Leyton but spent quite a happy time at Loughton as an AET.

I have LOTS of photos of Loughton cabin, as built in the 1940s, from the open house weekend a couple years ago.

Thanks chaps sites where good. All the time was at these different places & never had a picture. Now my Grand children are pestering for information on all the places i worked. Perhaps worked is not quite right for an AET in the past.

There was a lineman/AET at Loughton who was known by most as the 'Silver Fox' due to his striking hair colour. Did he move to Spain I wonder? Loughton was known to have the most competent AETs (Ganjo etc) so everyone wanted to go there.

The silver fox is still local. The good looking AET/TO moved to Spain. Yes we where pretty good AETs. Probably because we didn't take any rubbish from management. Compliments all ways accepted.

Hmmm! I don't recall any good looking TOs there. Didn't this cabin have two king levers, one for each direction? A question about the local control panel - or whatever it's called these days. I often felt that many local staff lacked the confidence to use them, certainly, the control people at Wood Lane didn't want to find out unless there was no choice. Does anyone know how this situation is now we're a few years down the road?

Didn't this cabin have two king levers, one for each direction? Leyton did - 11 for the EB; 17 for the WB. As these were fairly low numbers, suspect they were in the N frame, rather than the higher-numbered mechanically actuated points (and fpl levers worked for interlocking).
