Noticed in the last week or so, that A60/62 units are starting to receive new windscreen wiper housing. I guess this is to protect the motor.
Any thoughts or comments?

I wonder if this will be the last mod on A stock? Must have been dozens in the last half century!

I think I'll be more emotional when the last A stock train is retired--compared to how I was when I discovered all the Routemaster buses were taken out of regular passenger service.

Routemasters haven't completely gone. There are the two 'heritage routes', that run every 15 minutes, and you can use normal tickets on them, so I would say that they count as 'regular passenger service'. But when the last A stock is taken out of service, you will only be able to ride one a few times a year at most, and you would have to pay a lot to do that, and that's if the LTM get one.

It seeming to have been the case that railtours were often cheap/nominal or even free, is it that the Museum have been using money from the Lottery to run special services which has forced the fares to be their current excessive price? (Drifting from the topic a bit, I know...)
