A couple of correct answers, although the majority seem to have spotted the background! Becontree - westbound train [Chris M] Background: Lincoln Central station [Suncloud] *Click either image for a larger version* For those who remember Lincoln looking like this, I'll try to get some pictures of how it now looks. The signal box is still there, though disused. All the rail and ballast have been replaced, the old style signals have gone, and there are huge gantries of new signals strung over the lines. Each platform is now bi-directional and the chaos at the High Street crossing is equally as bad as it always was!

For some nice shots of High Street LC in steam days around 1960 see VINTAGE ROADSCENE issue 103, as I used them in an article! The extension to the signal box housed the LC power equipment.
