First, just a reminder that the answer to the inset from yesterday still remains unanswered. Now, welcome to the October quiz. We kick off this month with four locations. You need to answer these, and work out the next in sequence. Station A: Station B: Station C: Station D: *Click any image for a larger version* (Please note that picture D is subject to change as the original for today has a broken link, and this version is the only back-up picture I have) **EDIT** Picture D is now the correct version.

I agree B is Southfields, and D is Finchley Central.
A is somewhere on the Met, and C, I have no idea.

C can't be Osterley & Spring Grove I think. You think correct! It's definitely not there, I walked through there often doing maintenance. Mind you in the back of my head I am trying to work out whether it is on the test track between Northfields and South Ealing although I don't recognise it as being from there. Edited to indicate that I don't think it's on the Picc at all after noticing the brickwork of what appears to be a viaduct on the left so possibly on the Northern but also perhaps might be somewhere on the Jubilee in the Kilburn area say.

I have known O & SG for many years: since 1966 I suppose, when I first went to a local school and Osterley Park, when I used to look down from the bridge. I have seen the platforms acquire the cabling on posts which of course looks odd.

a) Richmond b) Kew Gardens c) Gunnersbury d) Turnham Green
The "LSWR" on b) kinda gives it away.

I have seen the platforms acquire the cabling on posts which of course looks odd. Yes but to me standing on the platform and looking at the old station building remains, it seems odd that it may be a cellar for the shop (I think it was a shop the last time I drove around the back to get to Osterley but I've only ever done so at night) up above. It is all bricked up at platform level so it may be a 'cellar' but I don't know.

It's a bookshop I think now? Inside the shop is the old ticket window, etc. If there was a justification for re-opening I would love to see it being used as a station again but there is no way on earth that it could be justified. The new station has buses and a car park and it's not too far to walk. The shops around the old station are quite bijou now...but Osterley (Jersey Road particularly) always was Nob Hill in places! The Smith family of Smith's Crisps fame lived in a huge house along Jersey Road.

As "A" looks newish, I would guess at Ruislip Manor, which has been refurbished relatively recently.

It's not Ruislip Manor.
I took this photo on the 17th of September 2007 if that's any clue regarding refurbs.

It is! So, a quick reminder of all the locations, and see if anyone can spot what would be the next in sequence. A: West Harrow - westbound waiting room. B: Southfields - L&SWR crest on station front C: Chigwell - East end of inner rail platform D: Finchley Central - roof of ticket office and southbound platform

Nope, as SE13 posted above station A is West Harrow.
Once you identify what the link between the photos is, the 5th in the set will be easy to find.

As Chris said, finding the link would make finding the next in sequence very easy. The number ONE might help you.......
