Just watching Heatwave one of those Horizon Fictional Docu programmes that the beeb do rather well. They had a "scenario" where a train was stuck in a tunnel during the heatwave due to a One Under. The Juice went off and eventually the batteries failed...(just wondering how long do they actually last?). The carriage was what looked like a D stock body, with a C stock interior running on the Northern Line What looked a little bit more worrying was that one of the "control room" staff appeared to be signalling trains with Microsoft Powerpoint C5

I didn't catch it, but I would put money on them having to cobble together whatever they could. The press office of late (and senior management) have become a little awkward on filming - especially if there is any risk of us being shown in a less than favourable light. A train stuck in a tunnel - through whatever means - is not good news.
I was meant to feature in the new series of The Tube, but, even though the service was quiet on the day, the production team were informed they could only film in either the Line Contol office or in the SCC. Didn't anyone tell them about my previous tv work. I shall have to contact my agent ;D

The carriage was what looked like a D stock body, with a C stock interior running on the Northern Line ----------------------------------------------------------- No young fella that was an "R" stock interior done up or mocked up. If you look at it again you can see that the windows have opening fanlights and emergency lighting/straphangers as per "R" stock. Where they found it or mocked it up is a mystery?

I didn't have the misfortune of seeing the programe, however to answer your question and not talk only about myself ( ;D), train batteries are garaunteed to last nowhere near as long as you want them to. It really depends on how well charged they were when you started to need them (yes, I know Solidbond!).
