Anyone see this this morning? It was half a page I think. I should have perused it in more detail, but the central thrust seemed to be "Crossrail is coming".
Which is a positive sign

How is wasting money on advertising something which is not even approved completely - a positive sign?

Anyone remember those 'New Tube Approaching' dot matrix style things that were about for the JLE?

You sure it wasn't for the touring 'information round' thats going around the route?
I got to see it yesterday at Paddington. They are handing out nice shinely local stuff (ie stuff about Paddington station and the New Yard development).
They are still to do Bond Street, Farringdon, Hayes & Harlington, Slough, Ealing Broadway.

In the context of what it'll cost, I doubt that advertising will even dent the surveyor's tea and biscuits budget. Also, I suspect it'll help in terms of sorting out any pre-emptive property blight claims etc Important simply in terms of the fact that is clearly stating that they think it's going ahead and keeping it in the public mind.

Oh, not sure it's not the local info rounds, but it did seem to be talking about "crossrail is coming" and had a diagram of the whole route...

The ad in the Metro was about the touring information rounds - you can see the ad by looking at the bottom of page 30 of the e-edition of Monday's Metro newspaper here (it's a Flash reproduction of the actual newspaper): img.metro.co.uk/e-edition/Aqmgg/Metro20080922/resources/index.htm

You can always put in a fake e-mail address like I did.

hmmm... I'll have to trust you on that - to read it, it appears I have to let them spam me every day. Oh well... Like jenks1987 suggests, use a fake email address (though do make sure it is fake first) - or otherwise use a so-called 'disposable' email address like one from the excellent and free Mailinator service - if you need to see any email they might send you then with a service such as this you can. To get access to these Metro pages I used this address: metro@mailinator.comGiven that you don't need to see any emails they might send you, you could also use this address: xyz@example.com( example.com is a domain that has been reserved especially for use as an example in documentation - using it for purposes such as this is thus pretty much harmless.)
